Adios, George - and good riddance

Ironically George Bush probably won't be remembered for the thousands of lives and trillions of dollars he squandered, but the stunning mediocrity of what passes for his mind. George W Bush truly proved the old adage that anybody - anybody can become President. The question all Americans must ask themselves is:How did this abysmal fool ever get to the Oval Office? Here is Thomas Jefferson: "When a man assumes a public trust he should consider himself as a public property." Here is George Bush: "I am mindful of not only preserving executive powers for myself, but for my predecessors as well." Here is Abraham Lincoln: "I claim not to have controlled events, but plainly confess that events have controlled me." Here is George Bush: "We are kicking a$$"(on progress in Iraq). Here is Barack Obama: "As we speak, cars in Boston and factories in Beijing are melting the ice caps in the Arctic, shrinking coastlines in the Atlantic, and bringing drought to farms in Kansas. Here is George Bush: "It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. Its the impurities in our air and water that's doing it!" JFK on war: "Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to Mankind!" Here is George Bush: "I've been to war, I've raised twins. If I had a choice, Id rather go to war." That last statement is not only a lousy joke, its a miserable lie. George Bush never went to war. He and his family pulled every string available to the Rich and Famous to make sure he never spent a wartime minute in Vietnam, just like his Whitehouse henchmen Cheney and Rumsfeld. Its a backhanded tribute to a country, that it can survive even the depredations of a sock-puppet disaster like G.W. Bush. . . but its been a long and ugly 8 years. American voters really need to raise the bar on this one. Or as George so memorably put it." We oughtta make the pie higher."

How did he get into office? Gee...I don't know. Magic I guess. I suppose the same way as your next pres will get into office. I'm sure I don't know how it happens. Does anyone in America know how they get a president? I don't think anyone knows. No-one will admit responsibility.

I really can't understand why anyone would admit to voting for G.W. Bush. He should have been a comic! Who in their right mind would admit to That?

Well, back 4 yrs. ago when the American people voted him back in over Kerry, I said that there would be many people who supported him then that would be complaining in 4 yrs. and if you can still support him now, I would wonder how. Personally, I cannot see how people can continue to support the Republicans, and want to Vote for them ever. Unless they can start looking at the American people as a whole and be for helping them instead of offering handouts to other countries, we will only continue to go downhill. It is truly time America takes a stand, and for me Bush will be one of those we will never forget, and wonder how we can ever recover from all of his bad judgements of time.

You can say that again.Goodbye George...My husband was in vietnam & when he got home he was treated like dirt, people hated all the ones who came from vietnam & the veterans administration would not even let them in the door. They do now but not then.i am also very unhappy about who is running this coming election. The only one that actually severed in any service was Mccain ,and than someone ask "what difference does that make? Well at least if they have been in the military they know a little more than those that have not served...I think Bush needs to spend some time in Iraq...

Obama will be the next American President, in an entirely different league than George W.Bush. America has done Herself Proud. Even Canadians are excited by Obama. He is so full of hope, and contagious inspiration. Canadians are going to Washington by the bus load, just to be there for the Presidential Inauguration. They want to be part of History in the Making. God Bless President Elect Obama, and Keep Him Safe!

I believe he will be remembered...as one of the worst presidents in the history of great country. Not only did he drag us into a war that we had no place being, he has pretty much sent us into a recession. I just thank god that he this is his last year in office, so that he can't do any more damage.

You are so right. The best thing about this election year is that Bush is getting out. I want Obama to get it, but anybody must be better than Bush. I don't care what people say about Clinton, that was the best 8 years that America experienced in forever, and Bush came in and destroyed most of that in the first year he was in office. I can't wait until November, and then I will be rushing January, so that dummy can get out!!!

It's amazing to me what things people try to blame on President Bush. If you looked at the history of our economy, you'd see differently. If you looked at the voting record of Congress, you'd see differently. The quotes above are not all Bush quotes, but things people say that he said. I, for one, am so glad that it was Bush in charge on 9/11 and not someone like Al Gore. I, for one, am also glad that Al Gore wasn't in office and trying to tax us for everything and anything because of his idea of what causes global warming...which scientists all over the globe question. I was raised to believe that one has to respect the office of the President. I am ashamed of Americans who so blatently bash this President for all the world to see. It's no wonder that other countries and terrorists think we're an easy target. We are - when we're this divided. There have been worse Presidents than this one. And I expect with the way the US and the world are heading, we'll have worse still. Obama, for instance. Taxing those who are successful won't help our country. Taking away tax breaks from companies won't either. Those who make over $250,000 will find tax loopholes, just like they used to do before. And companies will rush to take their businesses to other countries. In days of old, we used to be united, then disagreed gently. Now we just disagree and are never united. I, for one, hope that people learn to value every person, learn to respect people for whom they voted. And by the way, based upon past statistics, those who complain the most don't even usually go to the polls. The numbers of people who are eligible to vote but aren't even registered is amazing. And the number of people who are registered and don't vote is another shameful statistic.

Good day.. That's a bad combination for a president, stupid and greedy. Well, I think he might not be so much remembered in the minds of the Americans but I sure hell believe he is etched in the very soul of the Iraquis. And I hate to say it but he damned the name bush for the generations to come.
