A present for a close friend

I'm looking for a present for a friend of mine and I'm not entirely sure what to get. I want to get him a present, something to remember me by once we graduate. He likes video games and anime, but I don't know if I should get him either, as I think they are rather dull and uninteresting gifts - you play games for awhile, then discard them. Anime figurines or comics are better, but I'm sure he has many already and he'd just put them up on a shelf or something. What do you think would be a great gift? Whats the best gift you've ever given or received? Something that is interesting or sentimental? Or maybe it was the way that the gift was presented was special? Any ideas?
