Sony on august 21 announced that the third gen of the psp i.e the psp3000 will be available in october worldwide.It is called the psp3000 and comes with a advanced LCD screen and a built in microphone.It will have a high resolution 4.3 inch LCD display.Sony will also bundle skype with it.Sony has also expanded the tv output slot so that gamers can play on non progressive tv with the help of a additional cable.comes in 3 colours that is pearl white,piano black and mistic silver.It will be priced somewhere at US 300$.I am already excited.so are you...???

Not that much excited since I still have a PSP 1000 Metalic Blue and just running out of interesting games to play with.. would help if some of my friend would come around and play with similar titles since finishing a game so often kills the interest..
Would the PSP 3000 have game titles that would only play on it or it can still play those which are still compatible with the first two released versions of the PSP? 
By the way, aside from being slim-like, the PSP 3000 has that PS logo instead of that 'HOME' on a said button.. just that different aside from the upgraded features.. (-_- )

Hey,
I don't think I will be wasting my money to buy something that only basically has ONE thing different to the PSP slim! The only major difference between this one and the slim and lite is that the 3000 has the built in microphone so you can talk to your friends using Skype. Other than that, it isn't really worth the upgrade. I have also seen people do comparisons with the screens and they said that the difference isn't much! I will be waiting for Sony to realease a totally new generation portable gaming system, that one I will hopefully get. But I can't wait for it, I am not patient :D

I am equally excited.
Since I have my birthday in october, I think I can get my hands on it as soon as it is released. But the new features don't seem very pleasing since a microphone was provided with the Go!Cam and Skype can also be installed in the PSP 2000.
If there are any hardware improvements, like increase in RAM or GPU, then I better grab it cause the new games then will only be released for the PSP 3000.

Thanks for the really helpful information, I was trying to find out earlier if Sony was planning to release another PSP model. Yea, it seems good especially with the Built in Microphone which you can use to call people.
I can't wait until it comes out :D
