I Just COULDN'T Resist!!

Sometime ago I did a discussion about watching the clock while ebaying...the idea of NOT placing a bid until the last minute or so. Well, I just couldn't resist this. Now this might make me sound like a bit of a hypocrite as I'm always poo-pooing designer clothes...I did manage to get a pricey pair of Calvin Klein jeans once at a steal since the designer jeans shop near me was closing out of business....so I got my Calvin Klein jeans for a mere $5.00 plus tax..not bad huh? Well I've been in need of a new pair of jeans...I was perfectly willing to settle for good old Levi's and still might get a pair..BUT!!! So there I was at ebay and as a joke decided to hunt around to see if there were any designer jeans available..there were..Bill Blass, Calvin Klein, Armani, and on and on with the pricey designer labels and most for a steal... Then I came across a pair of get this...Versace Classic cut jeans....they are a men's size which I prefer..women's slacks/jeans just don't look great as they usually have a wider hip size which I just don't have...So these were perfect....The right waist size, right inseam....AND the starting bid was $19.99...they are pre-worn but from the photos do look in great condition...no rips or tears, nothing....So here I was watching the clock....NO ONE was bidding on them!! I was down to the last minute and placed my bid...AND I WON THEM!! HOLY CRAP...I have a pair of Versace jeans at retail price of about $300 and up new....Now just how could I resist... Gee..now if I could just get a new Nikon D70 digital camera for $20...LOL Anyway...have you ever gotten a real spectacular bargain at ebay?

That would probably be just for the camera body without lenses, right? But even at $800 that would be pricey for me now.

Oh ebay is great for designer stuff, I personally am not much for it but I have had tshirts and stuff for hubby. My latest bargains from ebay include, 3 pairs of boxer style knickers for 99p which are well cute, and a pair of sparkly jeans for my daughter also for 99p all brand new I add. So yeah pretty good!

When I saw those jeans I just couldn't resist...I mean heck, why not? This will be the first time I've ever bid on clothing..usually it's DVDs or printing ink. But I did need a pair of jeans...LOL

I get a lot of books over at either Amazon.com or Alibris...dirt cheap and yes, usually "used" but so far I've gotten great used conditioned books that almost look like new....and I just couldn't resist this one....I recently got a children's book by Rosemary Weir for only $1.99...What was so special about this book? The title is Pyewacket...NOW HOW could I resist that???

I hardly ever have anything for myself, anything i have is normally for my daughter, just cant resist those little girly clothes. Although I did treat myself to a new book last night, well second hand, another Philippa Greggory book, The Other Queen or something like that. I just cannot get enough of her books at the moment!

That would be a real crowning glory if I could find shoes for only .99ยข....were they new too? I bet the person who auctioned them deep inside had kind of a fit that she/he didn't get more for them...LOL

The seller there is one of those Power Sellers, been there since 2003 and has a positive feedback rating....so I think I can trust these jeans are legit....besides fake or not...they wound up being cheaper than a brand new pair of Levis...LOL

A steal on eBay? No, can't say as I have. However, I have found an occassional "deal" at Value Village, SallyAnn or Amity/Goodwill, and the like. I don't like shopping for clothes, though, and am generallly overwhelmed by the selection in such places, VV especially as they're (the stores) usually in retired supermarkets. So most of the time, I don't even bother to look at the clothes, just all the other stuff. And as for buying clothes online... well, I am not a standard size and shape (being a catwoman from Mars) so unless it's a t-shirt, generally have to try everything on. Guess that's one reason why I don't like shopping for clothes.

that is awesome. I try and stay away from ebay. I use to get great deals on new dvds that just came out. I would buy them for only $3 sometimes which is a big savings but I starting going crazy and was always on there bidding on something so I had to get off hubby was getting mad. lol I think its fun to find a good deal on somethings on there. I might have to go take a look at some stuff on there.

I have gotten some good deals on ebay. I will pull the last minute bid if I make one bid on the item and I am automatically outbid. I have found that by using the 'last minute bid' you can sometimes get a better deal, then trying to bid on something for days and having to bid against someone else who keeps uping the price. I do buy a lot of my scrapbooking supplies from ebay and always get some really good deals on it. I have 4 items that I have one and still bidding on several others from the same seller, you also get a better deal on the shipping by buying several items from the same seller since most will combine shipping.

I now try to do all my bidding at the last minute or so...I used to bid days in advance but then get outbid, would have to bid again and back and forth and found that most times I'd be outbid...so gave up after the bidding was too high

Good day.. Great hunt and a great buy. I am into fresh water and southsea pearl jewelries. I sell and buy at ebay. It's where one can have a great bargain at great prices. I've gotten a brand new gold/ silver weighing apparatus which I needed at a price of 10 dollars shipping included and I've got them now.

I once got one real great deal...an exact duplicate of a brooch pin that had belonged to my great-grandmother...I couldn't believe my luck with that buy... the original brooch pin became damaged and felt bad about it...so nearly fell off my chair when I hunted around ebay and found the exact same one in excellent condition...like new!
