how du u paste a stamp on an envelope?

You no longer have to use anything on stamps. You just peel them off the paper they come one and they stick right on the envelope. Before they did this, we used water. If you put them on your envelopes in the post office, they always provided a little glass that held a wet sponge and you just pressed the stamp on it and them put it on your letter.

but we still get the ones where water or gumstick has to be used

the ones i buy are like stickers.. you just peel them off and stick them on

Neither i buy the stamps that are like stickers. Just peel off the book and stick it to the envelope.

This is one absurd thing. I use cooked rice to stick a thing to something, and I think I've done it once with the old stamps...yeah.

Back before they invented the handy sticky ones I licked them. The taste was horrid but it was the quickest.
