I agree! Kill that BEAST! He deserves so much more than to get off this easy...Saddam is an EVIL man! I think that they should put him in a room with all of the families that he has hurt and let them tell him all they want...and then spit on the man...Let this happen for about 30 days or so, then do as you chose with him...But make sure he has gotten a full taste of what the families think of him!

I think hanging is too good for him. now I'm contradicting myself by wishing this evil person more evil... but he desrves to suffer untill he can cry genuine tears of sorrow...

That is true, but at least he won't be able to hurt more people now.

Call it what you will, we've been weeding out our opinion of cruelty, bad character, and justice this way... in many forms... for a long, long time.
I believe that what we do here dictates the lessons we will be required to learn after flesh is over.
The fact that...we...have ways to separate the bad from the good ought to tell us that the same is done,...much better,...out there where immortality is possible. Just because we're not allowed to see it, doesn't mean it isn't there.
Nature does not keep unhealthy conditions for Eternity or all time. Eternity is older than immortality. No soul, not even The Oldest, were born immortal. You have to keep it all healthy to achieve immortality. They did not invent the "laws" They learned them.
Because, Nature has Eternity to get it right; and She can ensure Her own freedom and health, with or without cooperation from our type of intelligence. If She gets too sick to repair it; She keeps what is healthy and disinfects the rest.
The seed defines the fruit; however, no seed lives without the sustenance within Nature's Energy, which moves with or without help from us.
Mental health became linked to physical health the moment intelligence was introduced because, Nature reacts to the chemistry we introduce into Her system. Nature reacts - physical. Intelligence chooses - mental.
Our choices dictate the outcome of our health. There is a reason we're taught to be mindful of others. There's a reason we're taught to be careful about choices that we choose...for...another soul.
The Immortal...cannot...disregard other souls. Their choices must be healthy...for all souls.
There are reasons...visibly and emotionally...obvious to most, why fear, control, and cruelty,...all symptoms of pride,...are too dangerous to survive immortally. The Oldest People alive know that, you can be sure. There is retribution and rehabilitation; but, no reincarnation.
By free will Nature can only work with those willing to love unselfishly.
Unconditional does not exist; because, love cannot give up mercy or wisdom. And, it must be healthy enough to remain immortal. That is why we are told that many are invited to participate; but, few are truely willing. And, The Oldest People...cannot...force you and will not force you to be willing. If it were all built on compliance, there would be no need for love.
And, love cannot live beside Eternal pain for Eternity; nor, will Nature keep it. It is far more merciful to put true pain to rest.
An angry, tortured mind that refuses rehabilitation cannot remain...for all Eternity.
Theft of freedom, life, property, appreciation, recognition, family, reputation is not the way to build a happy existence that makes you want to keep it healthy.
We don't have the perspective to be judges. Often we don't even understand why we do what we do as individuals.
Cruelty can be in the form of words expressed to a child. Look where Saddam grew up? When was the last time that area was living in total peace? Wasn't he raised by the relative of a widow?
And, what type of "men" did Saddam raise? Anyone remember their cruelty? I'll bet they have a different perspective, now. Just because we're not allowed to watch it on national tv, doesn't mean it isn't happening.
It's too late to turn back events. All we can do is work on our own decisions. The words we choose when we talk to people. The tone of our voice. The way we act toward others.
It's not over, here. But, what you learn and do here will write the itinerary for your journey up the steps. Which, thank goodness, cannot be bought. Nobody gets to shoot or sneak past. It will truely be a safe place for those who are willing.

Yay, you did it again. Making me feel bad about my evil thoughts...:) Thanx for reminding us all to try to be better persons. sometimes we are just so angry we forget or don't care to be better...

I don't think the sentence was unexpected as the evidence against him was so overwhelming. Aslong as they get it over and done with in a hurry instead of leaving him there for ages before carrying out the punishment. Also I expect that there will be some reprisals from his followers because when he was in power he gave them so much that the rest of the population didn't have.

I heard on the news today that the sentence has now been carried out but at the time I am writing this, there has been no official confirmation of this fact.

It was always going to happen, they just needed to go through the courts so no-one could get in trouble for it

im not a big fan of capital punishment, but i do believe if someone like that has taken as many lives as he has, he deserves to be hung and killed for his crimes

He should feel lucky he even got a fair trial..that is not something he offered to ALL of his victims. I think he deserves what he gets and then some.

I hope that justice will be done. I also posted a discussion regarding this issue. I hope the sentancing won't be drawn out with shennannigans like the trial. Personally I feel swift and final is the way to deal with the sentance. The people he tortured have waited long enough.

Hanging him is the easy way out, way to quick, the Ba###rd should suffer like he has made the thousands of orphaned children, widows, and son and daughterless parents.
Least will not have to worry about him again, but tyrants have followers and when he's gone 3 will take his place....

He deserves capital punishment. But it will make him Hero and Martyr in view of Iraqi people. He should be scentenced to whole life imprisonment so he can realise his butcher deeds committed by mass killings.
