Now I'm Confused

I just saw a discussion where someone reached payout and only had like 150 something posts, I hadnt even looked at how many I had thinking it was like 200, then I looked and I am over 300 and still havent reached payout. I must really be doing something wrong. I dont give one line responses, I have gotten some best responses, and I dont do one line posts. Maybe I should start and I can get paid quicker.
Not that I'm complaining, I just like being here and joining interesting posts but, now I'm a little confused on payout. I'm almost there but the numbers just dont seem to add up for me now, hummm
Does anyone have some bright words of wisdom to clear my confusion?

They may have started a lot of discussions that had a lot of replies. The amount you make is supposedly based on a few things that include, but may not be limited to: replying to discussions, starting discussions, how many people respond to your discussion, quality of your discussion & responses.

I ve joined for 2 years now and I have read some members got paid more than others. I am not sure what happened or was it a mistake, because I also read some members got their payment increased or decreased. I haven't been active for a while so I don't remember how much they said they will pay for each post and mylot has undergone some changes since I first joined I don't know for sure what stays and what doesn't. I am trying to reach payout myself because I need it to sell on Ebay.

I wish you luck, there are many that make a living off e-bay, with as much "stuff" that I have I have considered it myself. I wish all your items get sold quickly at a good price for you .

Well I received my first payout when I was about 400+ posts many months ago. Well I think you should also be aware that the amount given to us is dependent still on the one that evaluates our responses or posts in here. They are the ones that judges if the post merits a high payout rate. Do not be so conscious about that for me I am just enjoying my stay on in here and share what I know about.

I agree, I have to admit when I first came on it was to try to make extra money, but after a few weeks it is just fun to share and learn from the other postings.
Thank you

You have to remember there is no set amount of payment at myLot, we are all individually paid according to our activities, and how they add up in the earnings system, which remains a secret to us all.
I do know that someone with a lot of discussions which have many good quality responses, can earn as much as someone else who only posts responses. Another person could write a thousand responses and still not reach payout, if those responses were not of good quality. A discussion with no responses earns nothing and a response with only a few words has no value.
If you are already approaching payout you are doing well, and you will soon reach payout by continuing to post. I know some people earn faster than I do, and others more slowly, but I am happy to be paid every month for doing what I enjoy at myLot.

Very true, and I guess I'll just go on posting and responding as I do, I enjoy it and that is really all that matter in the long run. Thank you

I am also confused. i reached my first payout after 400+ post. so for me it could have been never possible. but still mylot does not have any rate of payment. may be they are very successful for ecah post and get many responses they start discussions.

From what I am getting back I think it must be as you have said, uploading photo's for others to use and referals. All I have been doing is posting so I'm taking the long and winding road, but it will still get me there and I like the scenery this way , hehe

Yes but the thing I think alot of people are missing when they see these posts of people who have only made what 126 or 150 posts and have reach payout already .. Yay Wow thats fantastic but 99% of the time they don't tell you that they have referrals that are earning most of that money for them and that they haven't done it in their own or maybe they just forget to about them? who knows so don't think that you are doing something wrong because your not just need to go out there and find some ref's too just dont ask me how to do that as I have no idea would like some myself

I think your right there, that has to be it. I just go on my happy way and post, if I find a way to get the ref's I'll let ya know. Like I had said earlier most of my friends dont get online too much so I dont see that happening, oh well all is good

hi goodhappens,
i think how much we earn doesn't only depends on how many post we posted, but also how we write our post. so both quantity and quality play important roles to earn here. i have a friend who just post 10 - 15 posts a day here and she easily make more than $1 a day. i notice that she always post quality posts and put sense on them. she doesn't post for the sake of posting, by only write a few sentences in her posts. even some of hers are like an article.
well, maybe the guy also have several referrals here.

Hello sutanhartanto, that makes more sense then the one saying about adding pictures, I tried to add a pic to a post but found I have to have 500 posts to do that, so this person couldnt have done that one either, but making good responses and good posts would up the pay I would think, and I know they say one can do real well on referrals.
I'll just keep on keeping on and enjoy posting and know my day will too come soon.

Yes! I hope this could clear your confusion. I have responded to the same thread you read about the very early payout. When I responded that discussion the owner of the discussion was at 125 posts!
Anyways, if you read my response in that discussion, I had asked him how he reached the payout so soon. I do not intend to doubt him/her. I am sure that one can reach payout at a lesser number of posts.
We usually neglect the other ways one can earn on mylot. i.e. posting pictures on the 'interests' (not to your own profile). Creating and Responding discussion is not the only way to earn on mylot. So, number of discussions and responses has nothing to do with the payout! One can start a few discussions, respond to other discussions and still earn good returns by posting original and unique pictures to the 'topics of interest'.
I believe, he/she must have uploaded good number of pictures along with discussing and responding. Also, getting 'Best Response' tag adds a lot to your earnings.
All these efforts could earn you the minimum payout really soon.
Again to underline:
"Number of posts does not reflect and is not directly related to your earnings"
Thanks!

I guess that would make sense, I hadnt thought of just uploading pic's when I cant post them on my posts till I reach 500, although if one did and others are using them that would make sense. Thank you

Maybe it's a matter of getting a good reputation here which is really not your problem as I see your star rating. Maybe you just have to wait for other members here to evaluate your posts. I hope you get to payout for this month.

Well that could be because of a few things. The amount you make isn't only determined by how much you post, but also by the "quality" of your post, how many responses you get and you also get paid for adding pictures. I know it's confusing. I'm just barely learning how this all works. Well hope I helped. Have a great day!

I am only a few posts ahead of you, and only just found out that the more features you use here, the better. I upload pictures, I rate every discussion I participate in, including all the responses, I use key word tags, etc. I also misunderstood the FAQ when I first read them. I didn't realize that you can post pictures in your discussions, if you start the discussion and the picture pertains to the interest you are in, before you have 500 posts. If someone chooses to use a picture you've uploaded.....there are all kinds of little things that can count towards your earnings.

humm, I had forgotten all about that sort of stuff. I thought you count add pic's till you reached 500, it has been a while since I read the FAQ and stuff. I may have to start doing that, thank you

I have to go in once in awhile and refresh my memory on some of the stuff. It is a good idea to do this from time to time, just to make sure you are utilizing all the features mylot makes available to us.
