I was wondering how many people watch the Spelling Bee contest on ESPN or has had any children on there. Do you think they should have it? The kids look so stressed out at times that it concerns me.

I can watch it in small amounts, it can be fun. Yeah, the kids are stressed out, but it's probably good practice for them to learn things and to perform under pressure.

It is probably fun for some of the kids but some of the kids looked stressed and terrified. Not sure if I would want my child to go through that stress.

I never knew ESPN covered spelling bees, so I guess ya know that means I didn't watch it. If a child wants to participate in one I think they should be able to. They will learn how to manage their stress with the more competitions they enter. I don't think anyone should ever force a child to participate, though I know there are parents out there that do this to their kids.

No child should be forced to do it like you had said. It is up to them if they want to do it.

No, I didn't even know they show things like that on ESPN. Because I thought that is a sport channel. Yeah, poor children, they have to go through so much to learn those millions of words just to be in a contest. When I was growing up, I wanted to do it, but when I watched one of those contests, I backed out. I didn't think that was for me, that's just too much stress for a young mind.

I don't think I would put my child, if I had one, through that kind of stress of being on tv in front of millions of people. It has to be nervewracking.

I've never watched it. I think spelling bees can be fun but those kids are under way too much pressure, especially from their parents.

I have never even heard about it. Guess I don't have little kids, or I might have known about it. I think it's a good idea though. The kids don't have to be on if they don't want too, and that is a good stress. It won't hurt them.

I have never watched them and I'm also surprised that it is shown on the sports network. I think I would be kind of anxious for the kids on it, but they have to want to spell or they wouldn't be so good at it.
