I never knew ESPN covered spelling bees, so I guess ya know that means I didn't watch it.
If a child wants to participate in one I think they should be able to. They will learn how to manage their stress with the more competitions they enter. I don't think anyone should ever force a child to participate, though I know there are parents out there that do this to their kids.

No, I didn't even know they show things like that on ESPN. Because I thought that is a sport channel. Yeah, poor children, they have to go through so much to learn those millions of words just to be in a contest. When I was growing up, I wanted to do it, but when I watched one of those contests, I backed out. I didn't think that was for me, that's just too much stress for a young mind.

I have never even heard about it. Guess I don't have little kids, or I might have known about it. I think it's a good idea though. The kids don't have to be on if they don't want too, and that is a good stress. It won't hurt them.

I have never watched them and I'm also surprised that it is shown on the sports network. I think I would be kind of anxious for the kids on it, but they have to want to spell or they wouldn't be so good at it.
