Do you read other peoples' responses?

When you respond to a discussion, do you only post your response and go on to another discussion or do you read what others have wrote? I always read other peoples' responses, usually after I have already responded. And I usually comment on a few as well. I like to really get in to the discussion, see what others think, not just say my opinion and leave. How about you? What do you do?

well actually normally i dont read other people responses , but depending on the topic if discussion is really exciting and if i think that it would be good to know other people opinions i read them first before responding to a discussion , so its really useful when you going to response to discussions it might give you good opinion and change your point of view, anyway happy mylottings

I think that you are the first one to respond who doesn't read them. Maybe everyone else was just conforming. jk. Anyway, I think it is very useful to read them. Well, thanks for responding and have a magnificant day.

I do. I like to compare my ideas with others; thus giving me a wider perspective of things. Learning other's ideas makes you think that there's more to learn or to know as well. You will definitely learn from them. Be keen.

That's cool. I usually read them after and sometimes I find out I said almost the exact same thing as someone else. But yes, I agree it is fun to read them. I usually pick a few out at random too when there are a lot. Thanks for responding. have a great day.

I read everything in a discussion, if I am interested enough in the discussion to respond. Even if there are 6 pages of responses, I read them all. I do this in case someone has already said what I was going to say. If this is the case, I will respond to that response. I also read through other responses and respond to any that I find interesting, then I will post my own response, if I feel it is necessary. I never just post my thought, opinion or perspective and leave. I also take the time to rate each and every response before I make my own post.

That's amazing. you are the first one to say that you read them all even when there is a lot. Maybe that's why you said that? Tricky, tricky. jk But in all seriousness, I think that that would totally be hard work and gotta give ya props for that. Thanks for taking your time to make mylot a better place. Thanks for responding and have a cheery 'ol day!

*LOL* No, I said it because it is true. I enjoy seeing what people have to say in the discussions I am interested in.
That, or I am just a weirdo.

I usually read others' responses and do some comments on those I find worthwhile to read. But if the list is too long I tend to skip some, respond, and run like a thief.

I do read other people's responses before I make my own response. But I don't read all of them, especially if there are 6-7 pages of them. If the topic is interesting, I may read all. I also comment on other's responses too. Sometimes I needed their help, so I do that.

Me too. Sometimes there are just too many to read! But I think reading a few still makes a difference. It still gives you an idea of how the majority feels about the particular topic.

Definitely. You can really learn a lot here since there are so many different kinds of people. I certainly have learned a lot of interesting things by reading others responses. When reading the discussions, you don't usually learn much because they are usually just questions, but the responses, on the other hand, are filled with all sorts of information.
That's funny though. I wonder if you only read the other responses because that is what the discussion is about or if you really wanted to know what others had said. Tricky, tricky.

yeah i do that makes me understand what people think about the topic which is going on, Just responding with my discussion and go is not my way. If the topic is of any interest of mine than i would surely read others opinion about it, Yeah topics like What part of woman and all the specific things which totally depend from person to person are ignorable and i dont read them then but when they have discussoins on topics like what would you do, whats right or is whatever which is being discussed is right or wat so ever interesting i surely read other's responds! but only after that coz what happens sometimes when i read the other's responses my mind starts thinking alot and getting confused of what i would talk to the discussion would maybe different.

I agree. Some topics are too shallow and the answers are very plain so they aren't really worth reading, but the ones that are more about life, morals, decisions, etc are very deep and it is very interesting to see what others have to say. (I hope that made sense) I also like to read them after I have already responded, so that my answers will be honest, not influenced by other's opinions and thoughts.
Anyway, thanks for responding.
