Yes indeed we use ibuprofen for pediatric age group, but it seems that its beginning to become a drug of abuse in certain countries. depending on this medication not only for pain and fever, but also for stress.. WHAT!
In both emergency and out patient situations, we give Ibuprofen to less than 5 year old children who were thought not to be given this medication for quite some time.. because of its certain renal or hepatic effects, we opt to choose for paracetamol instead. but hey paracetamol wont be fast enough to go lower down a 40 degrees celsius temp... to all you mothers out there, dont be scared to use this, only that check whether ur children are allergic to it and use it cautiously. as the advise always say: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN!

Well so far this is my first time hearing about the abuse of Ibuprofen. Paracetamol has been the choice for antipyretic both in children and adult.. though it has got more liver and kidney toxicity.Ibuprofen can be safely used as it is relatively safe and has got more analgesic and antiinflamatory action.
