No this is not a joke, believe me it's not the start of a jokey punchline either
Wolfie is NOT laughing
In fact Wolfie is itching, badly!
He is very grumpy and you don't want to upset a grumpy wolfie!
Why is he grumpy?
Well he keeps getting bitten by mosquitoes! And when he's asleep, the cheeky buggers! and what's more what he can't understand is that they go for his LEFT leg, never his right, always his LEFT!!
WHY?
and why do they always bite me and none of my other family members
WHY ME?
and why do they make that awful whining noise at night in my bedroom and when I turn the light on they hide and they go quiet? I can't believe a critter that small can make such a loud noise!
So it leaves me to believe that mosquitoes are prejudiced!
Ok the question, sitting comfortably, well there's three for you to help Wolfie out with
How To Stop Mossies biting!
Why Are they attacking my left leg and only my left leg? Is it more tastier than any other part of my body, what's so special about my left leg?
And why me? Why do they like biting poor Wolfie?
Please help!!!!!!

I don't know why they would be choosing one leg over the other but I have read in the past that mosquitoes do prefer a certain blood composition over others? I too seem to get hammered by mosquitoes compared to other people so maybe I too have a favourable blood composition? Apparently they have very keen sensory organs and can "smell" blood types! Personally I can't stand it when it is late at night, very dark and they buzz around my ears! It drives me crazy.....

I have heard about the use of garlic yes. A friend of mine from many years ago met a man who lived in the rainforests of Borneo. As he was having a conversation with him, the guy was munching away on entire bunches of garlic cloves like it was an apple! When he said to him that he must REALLY enjoy garlic to be eating it like this; the man said that he does this to keep off the mosquitoes..... Imagine the smell though if you were to keep eating raw garlic like this!

Ok Sweetheart I can not tell you why they are biting just you and why your left leg but I can tell you that you need to go out and get the cream that you can buy for Mosquitoes Bites you can get it at any Chemist or Supermarket then you need to invest into the Strips for those little Beggars, that you can buy now I think you can get them at B+ Q or somewhere like that as it seems that they are in your room at all times so get the shopping done Sweetie

Haha! Aww... wolfie. Sounds like you're in a pretty bad situation. Want me to go and catch them for you? I have a really special talent of catching them at the most impossible way. Haha! I have the same problem. I always attract those critters and they can absolutely drive me up the wall especially when I have about 10 bites around my face and arms and they still have the nerve to buzz around my ear. I make sure to kill 'em if I can. If not, I'd get an electric fan and let it go full blast over the bed. It keeps them away. I really have no idea why they like your other leg... maybe it's because it's the one closest to them. I can't stand garlic so I guess I have to stick to spraying the room with a repellant or putting on repellant lotion myself. I don't know if you get this but after I get bitten, the bites turn really red then turns dark, like it's bruised or something. It's not because I have high sugar... the doctor says it's just the way my skin is. and it sucks. big time. Not only do you get several hundred bites, you also get several hundred questions as to why I have so many "bruises" on my arms and face.

That can be embarrassing explaining the bruises and the looks that people give you, it's like their mossie bites but you know what they are thinking! Thankfully they don't go for my face! Well I am ready for them now, armed with garlic and citrus and hopefully they get the message and GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Pack their bags and leave me alone. I am not providing them another night's feast thank you!

Hi wolfie,
ohhh..we have the same problem about this, in my Family, only Dad and I will be bitten by these little creatures and Mom and my Sister will never get even a single bite! They will always tease us that we have a sweet blood! I hate it really..And now hubby also and I are prone to their bites! I just used off lotion so that they will not reach me!
I do know about your left leg..LOL! maybe they are more comfortable there! LOL!
Just try to apply lotion for that!

I don't eat sweets either so I don't know why my blood is so sweet or good to suck! But pretty soon my blood will taste of garlic then lets see if they are so keen to bite. I intend to win this battle against the critters! Thanks for your response, lotions are good but I want to stop them biting in the first place because they look unsightly especially when I am at the gym! Not very nice is it to have lumps on the legs when you are exposing them! People think you have a disease or something, yikes!

oh my gosh! and i thought my husband is the only one with this mosquito preference! i can't help you with this one though. i'd just like to share my husband's experience. he also is the only one in the family who gets bitten by mosquitoes. even in "full battle gear" and the rest of us wearing next to nothing, he still manages to get himself bitten. i always kid him about his blood being tasty to mosquitoes. hee hee. anyways, i'll keep an eye on this discussion so that if anyone else knows how to resolve this problem, you and hubby will both benefit from it *grins*

I have always understood that body chemistry attracts mosquitoes. People who have more processed sugar in their system get bitten more. Snopes says they are attracted to the CO2 that you give off, so anything that masks it should help. I have read that taking extra B vitamins helps repel them, and that is probably true. I take extra B6 especially, on advice of both Doctors and Chiropractors to reduce pain. I have very few biting incidents. My brother has heard that if you put the store version of Listerine original in a spray bottle and spray it around it repels them. Snopes says not so. Personal theory, I like it, it seems to repel flies as well when we are eating outside. It smells and feels fresh and clean, unlike chemical repellents. It is a surface sanitizer. It probably masks the CO2. Active ingredient is an herbal based oil. As for your left and right leg difference. I would observe and see if there are other differences, like one going to sleep a lot or the other. I would question if the blood flow was poor in the right side. Just a thought.

Thanks for your advice, seems like Vitamin B is a good remedy, I will test out the garlic to see how that goes, if it works I'll stick to that, if not, Plan B. They are not easy to catch and kill, cheeky buggers hide and lie in wait. I have also got a scented candle which I will put on tonight, but I will make sure it's out before I go to bed, don't want any accidents!

Oh my poor darling little brother I wish I could sort out those bullying leg biters for you! There are lotions that they don't like as well as electric things that give out a noise they don't like or something but I think they are expensive. As for your left leg - do you sleep in a position that makes it easier to get to that leg? No other idea! I know why they like you though - they like sweet things - and well that says it all! Hugs xxx

In short it's the way you smell. Your body produces a certian smell that attracts them, no lie. That's why you could be standing right next to someone and you get bitten and they get blown past without a second look.
The body's masking odors act like a natural repellent to mosquitoes. People who are bitten less frequently, or not at all, emit chemicals that repel mosquitoes. Mosquitoes recognize these smells as something they would not like to feast on and fly to someone else. Recent research has been undertaken to narrow down the smells that are attractive and repellent to mosquitoes. The research was at first described as similar to looking for a needle in a haystack, but scientists have since managed to track down and identify around 30 chemical compounds out of 300 that can protect people.

Hi wolfie, I've never heard of mosquitoes being prejudiced, especially to the extent of preferring one leg over the other. I know that it is difficult for me to find anything that works when it comes to keeping them away. I agree with you about the noise too, they are so small and yet so loud. If you find a solution to the problem, be sure to let us know. Blessings.

Hi Wolfie, I am one of the lucky ones that don't taste too nice for them mozzies but they love to feed on my daughter. I was thinking about this the other day and I eat garlic my daughter doesn't and if you put garlic into and dogs or cats food it repeles fleas and other insects so maybe garlic capsules may help deter them. My daughter uses some sort of jungle repellent herself to stop them but I know from her experience that they can be very itchy and annoying so I do feel for you. Ellie :D

Garlic eh? Thanks and ironically that connects my Love bites doesn't it with the vampire kissing, maybe the garlic would stop the hickeys too! I take codliver oil capsules so I will look out for garlic capsules thank you my friend, much appreciated, you said you feel for me, well maybe you can scratch me instead LOL! Trying to run on the treadmill at the gym is going to be a nightmare if I want to scratch at the same time PMSL imagine!

LOL, Wolfie wants a good scratching, my nails are sharp though so they may penetrate that wolfie fur too far and make the bites bleed but I'll be gentle, heat makes them more itchy anyway, cold flannel will help, building up a sweat in the gym won't but will make you feel better eh! Garlic is supposed to keep vampires away so two problems solved there in one eh! I think the last time I got a love bite was in secondary school and I was grounded big time for it when my mum saw it LOL. I hope garlic capsules do work for you for both problems. Ellie :D

I;ve been told that mosquitoes tend to go for Fairer skinned/haired people So if you are a brunette its best to sit by a blond and you wont get bitten as much. (Sadly i tend to be that blond) I've also been told that its the blood type they go for..some blood types must taste better.

O man I think this due to your posession and posture. Mosquito suck blood while they get chance to suck. As you know that female mosquito suck blood but no male mosquito. I hope you will understand my suggestion . just keep your body wrap and use the nets to avoid them.

Mosquitoes love to suck your blood and their favorite spots are the ankle, neck and underarms. Mosquitoes don't go and bite the the smelliest person in the room instead they go after the warmest person so if to prevent always stay at cool areas, don't get sweaty often and always take a cool shower!
