When did you get your First Computer?

I got my first personal computer when I was 7 years old and it was 1988. The computer was very slow as compared to today's modern version of computer. It was called Commodore 64. The hard disk was very heavy, almost weight 15 kgs. I guess and old 5 and a half inche floppy which has a big circle in centre was used. I used to connect it with my TV and play games. Each game took 45 to 50 minutes to load. The keyboard was huge, heavy and big. Keyboard was not used to play games and there no mouse with it, only joy stick to play. Joystick of old style, not like those with SEGA. I was so happy to have my computer.

My 1st computer was when i'm 14 yrs old.. hehe =D During that time i was in secondary school and my mom thought that it was the best time for me to own one, since my school work might need me to use it often.. And yeah, i did use it everyday, but not school work, rather going to social networking site such as MIrc, making frenz.. lol However now, i will wanna own a laptop of my own so that i need not share my desktop with my brother and it's more convenient for me to bring to everywhere i want to ^_^ haha

You are lucky to have a computer while you were still young and at school! As for me, since computers costs a lot here in our country.. i only got my first PC when i already was working. I really saved my earnings just to spend it on a PC since that time I enrolled in a Master's Degree Course. I really need a computer at home that time, that is why i purchased one. I was so happy, i already can surf and research in the internet even without renting in an internet cafe. I was able to do my research and assignments at home, thus, contribute a lot in finishing my Master's Degree.

i think it must have been when I was about to go to college. Internet was at its beginning phase then. Did not even have Windows. I remember playing Pacman with my cousin on it.

I first had my very own Personal computer when I was still 12. It was my gradutaion gift from my parents.^_^ The first time I used it, i really had fun because I was a bit very excited with it. I almost slept late that night because i was really having fun playing the installed games in it..But before i was given that gift, we used to have a computer but it is for the whole family..so i was really delighted to have one..=)

I got my first PC in 1994 I think, its a Pentium 1 133MHZ, 8MB RAM, 2MB Video, 24X CD-Rom.

I got mine, when I was all grown up with two kids. I had to buy it as I needed it for the business I started. I used to type the thesis of research students (though I don't do it now),

hmmm .. mine was in 1999 .. year of matrix 1 ... :P the config was via 333MHz ... 64MB Ram ... 16x CD ROM .. 4GB HDD ... samsung Samtron 40BN monitor (which i still use :)) back then i didnt know how to use win 98 .. or any window editions for that matter ... one of the first things i did was to delete the windows folder ... lol ... coz i thought it was junk :P

I got some sort of Commodore 64 when I was a kid. It wasn't much of a computer at all, but I seem to have taken to it just fine. I've never really taken a lto of classes about computers, but people still come to me for help.

I got my first computer 6 years ago.It was pentium 4 and still fine until but the memory is very slow.It was still expensive at that time because not many people in our country had computer yet.But now there are alot that are cheap.

I have my first learning of computer when I am in my college day and as I remember that was 1991 and I have my first computer when I am already here in Kuwait for that was 10 years ago and the first computer that you have has been very old one because the first computer that I have is already Pentium 3 and now I also changed it past 3 years ago into Pentium 4 for a little upgrading system as well......

Oh gosh, I remember getting our first family PC in 1992, and I THINK it was a Pentium 1....been so long ago! BUT! I do highly recall having Dos on it, and playing King's Quest, Space Quest, EVEN Leisure Suit Larry when they first came lol. Windows DOS program for running it. And then we finally upgraded to Windows 95 in 96 with a new computer as well, mainly because the fan was making a crazy insane noise, high whirring noise. I believe that one was a Pentium 2. I was just a kid at the time too.

Although my parents are not rich, they made their efforts to provide a computer to me when I was in colledge. Since we had computer subject and there're so less computers in the campus, I had to wait there until nine in the evening. That's so inconvenient for me to go back home after a short exercise on the public computer.

I got my first computer when I was about 19 years old. Till then I didn't have one of my own and used to use the PC's in college for what ever I had to do. I was really very happy when I got a computer of my home which I could use all day long.

This is a great question: when I was 39 years old, over 21 years ago in 1987. That was the time when mainly businesses had computers, not people at home. But my son waas a computer whizz and after he got a Basic programming system, I remember getting the first Apple Mac computer, the simple LE, and it was so awesome then. It was so easy to use, so amazing in what it could do, especially after having been used to typewriters, I couldn't keep away from it. When I began to produce the first magazines on it, that was even more incredible. I had it for about five years and then changed the model to something else. Today I have a Mac G5 which is in a class of its own, no comparison at all. Yet, despite how advanced it is, there is nothing to beat those early days and having a real home computer.

I get my first PC now,It's very small,but lovely.

I barely remember, but I think it was a laptop. I don't quite remember its specs, as young as I was. I remember playing pac-man on it when I came home from school. Along with some digging game. I didn't have internet then, not even dial-up.

lol! so did i, i got my first computer when i turned 13, and i was in the 8th grade, lol

I got my first computer 4 years ago and I am still using it.
