Which destinations would you like to see or visit before you die?

I was watching the news and a segment came on about the co-author of one of the most popular travel guides and adventure book '100 Things to Do before You Die' had passed away.
Got me to thinking which are the travel destinations I'd like to go to or adventures I'd like to go on before I die. I thought I might maybe start writing a list of places I want to visit and make an effort to visit them at some point in the near future, after all life is too short and is to be enjoyed at any opportunity.
I have always wanted to go to Paris, Venice and Rome (deemed some of the most romantic places to visit); others on the top of my list would include Mauritius, Hawaii and the Carribean..
What do you think? Would you do the same; maybe you already have a list of your top places to visit? Which places have you visited already that were on your list? Given the opportunity, which places would you like to or do you plan to visit before you die - 'pack your bags for the very last time' as Dave Freeman said?

It's hard to decide what area is most appealing. There are so many beautiful and exciting places to see. I know I'd like to go some place where the air is cool and there's a gentleness and quietness that surrounds the area. I think I'd like to go to a place where there are enough people so you're not on your own, but not so many that you can hardly move for fear of running in to someone. Off the beaten path would probably be just right for me.

this is true that every body have a very small time to do or see in their life every thing what they like to do or see , but still every body wants to get some adventure in their life once , according to me . but if u will ask that what u like to see before u die then it will be a very difficult question , & if u ask me then i will like to climb on the top of a very high mountain without any support & jump from there with a parashoot .

Yes, I am going to school and doing my best to get a job as a teacher, so that I can afford to go on trips like that. I am also learning a lot about the languages.

Thanks for posting this topic. I would like to see the lava beds in Hawaii, Stonehenge, the Great Wall(I'd like to see it from the moon), where the Berlin wall stood, Niagra Falls, the Grand Canyon, and I'd like to go to New Zealand to see where they filmed the Lord of the Rings movies. I've already been to Jedidiah Park and saw where they filmed the Endor scenes in "Return of the Jedi".

I had been thinking the same thing after see the previews for the movie the bucket list. the guys were trying to do everything on their lists before they "kicked the bucket". I think Hawaii is definitely at the top of my list. I also would like to see the grand canyon and the mall of america I've never been on a plane and would probably be a little afraid to leave the US. I've never really desired to go to Paris either, not sure why. I also would like to go to Maine and along the coast up that way to see all the lighthouses.

I also watched the preview for 'the bucket list' starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman and I believe it was based on that travel guide too..
I think I may now try to watch it..though I'd never caught jumping out of a planehehe
I've been on a plane many times in my travels between Europe and Africa from an early age and it has gone by smoothly so far, nothing to worry about as long as you check out your destinations before you travel..

I would love to visit America. I would especially like to visit New York. I think it would be so cool to see all the places and things that you do on the TV and films. Id like to go to one of them American diners that you see as well. Somewhere else I would like to see is Columbine High School. I have been very touched by the events there and would like to visit the mmeorial.

I haven't been to America either and I'd love to go some day so it's one on my list.
I do recall the events of Columbine High School, that was shocking
I think I'd like to take my kid(s) to Orlando Florida at some point when they're old enough and I'd like to visit NewYork and Las Vegas too List is growing already..
Have you got a list of places or do you just pick and choose when the time and costs allow or where you need to go?

Places I would love to visit before I die would include Egypt, I want to do a cruise along the River Nile. From Luxor to the Valley of the Kings. I would also love to visit Dubai and stay in that hotel that is shaped like a sail! I am not sure that there is anywhere else I can think of at the moment but those two are definates and trips I have thought about for a long time. Hopefully I will get to fulfil my wishes.

Not at the moment, my children are still quite young yet and it is not something I feel they would appreciate too much just now. But definately as they become older.

I can understand that. My tot is 4 and I have not travelled much in the past few years as it would be a number of added costs too let alone anything else.. now there's school too so that will have to be in summer holidays mostly

Hi marina. Well I will like to visit Egypt, Greece, Rome, Pompeia, Venice. I will visit those places before die anyway. And after that I want to travel all the world because many places are beautiful but not famous. To say all, I want to know the planet I am living before die LOL.
Have a nice day.

Yes, it's true that many places are beautiful but not as popular and some of the remotest and undiscovered places are the most beautiful.

I would love to visit Alaska, we've been talking about going there, maybe someday we will, I'd love to go to Hawaii, I think its beautiful, and the Carribean. I'd also like to go see the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone Park and go camping. We went riding in the mountains in Colorado once, I loved it, that was the first time I've ever been there.

for me at the very top of my list is sicily. I have always wanted to go there. My grandfather was sicilian. So sice i have always known that it kind of has given me the idea of maybe going there one day. I think that it would be a beautiful place to see. especially since i was only able to spend time with my grandfather one time in my life. so i would love to go there and get to know that culture and that kind of thing.

There are many places I'd love to visit before I die. I doubt I'll make them all. Who knows, I might not make any of them if our finances don't improve drastically.
1. Hawaii........I really want to go here. This will be the first one we do if we have the chance.
2. Scotland, England and Ireland. We'd love to do the train thing that takes you around all of Great Britian.
3. New Zealand
4. Montana, Yellow Stone Park, the Keyes, Vegas, and Washington D.C. for the continential US.
I'm sure there are more but that's enough..lol.

Unfortunately we aren't able to right now. It's all we can do to survive. We are working towards paying off bills with any extra money we get. After we get bills paid down, extra money will go towards getting us health insurance. Then we might be able to work on vacation money.

hmmm i have to work hard first to become rich...which i think it's imposibble because if i stay here at our country, eventhough i'll work hard, i couldn't still get being rich...so i have to work from other country and i think that way i could pursue my dreams and also work there...hopefully...

Given an opportunity, I would like to the Tibet, the highest place in the world. I can feel the purity of the world for the existence of the blue sky and white cloud over there. I can also see the Mount Everest which is the higest mountain in the world before which you will know you are so small that is not worth being mentioned. You will feel the great power of nature in Tibet which can not be conquered. Perhaps you have a large sums of money or you are a leader of some country, you are proud of yourself all your life. However, when you are going to die, you should go to the Tibet to feel the power of nature and show the respect for the power of nature.

Perhaps I will do some excercises for improving my physical energy to adapt for the geographical enviorment in Tibet. Meanwhile, I will buy some necessary things such as clothes, shoes and bags. The last one is that I need a partner or a few partners for I think we should share the joy with my friends.

How old am I? Well I'm 33 and sadly I'm not well travelled! I hope that I can visit some places before I die like the Great Wall of China. Niagra Falls and the Grand Canyon sound like excellent places to visit! I can only dream right now but I have goals to do some serious travelling within the next few years. A safari would be very nice, seeing those elephants and lions on their own territory! Sadly I lack experience in this area anyhow, perhaps there's hope for me yet!!!

I think I'm working towards those goals slowly but surely but it's not an overnight process! I'm trying to gain some customers for myself first as I have just taken a course in Computer Maintenance and Installation and I take my exams in October. If I get a few customers, fixing their computers and so forth then perhaps there's a chance that I will do some travelling! Andrew
