I really do not like instant noodles... even when i was just a kid... i like noodles... but not the instant kind... and i would only eat one when i have no choice... i believe they are not good for the health when eaten constantly because of the preservatives and monosodium glutamate... so i try to stay away from them...

I'm not a fan of instant noodles and have it only when I have absolutely no time to cook anything or when I've run out of groceries. It happens once in a couple of months.
My son loves it but I don't encourage him to have it too often because it isn't healthy.
U usually add a scrambled egg to it.

Well, instant noodles is normally touted as not too healthy.
I eat quite a "fair" share but I try to keep it not too frequent.
I think if you eat it once or twice in a month, that sounds fine.
Recently, a friend sent me an email (mass mail) suggesting that I first get rid of the wax by boiling till the noodles become cooked (soggy of sort), then pour away the water.
After that, we have a fresh pot of water, bring it to boiling, then put back the noodles and add the seasonings. Well I tried it today and geez, the noodles tasted bland. Nothing changed except for the removal of the supposed wax.
Is wax supposed to taste good?

Instant noodles have been around for that long?
Wow... I didn't know that.
I too like to eat instant noodles. And have them every once in a while.
My favorite is when my father-in-law cooks them.
He will always use the noodles and then adds lots of other ingredients into the noodles as he fries them over the wok.
Very delicious and tasty indeed!
Something that is different from the usual boil, add soup stock then serve dish.
But it is not good to eat too much of it. Not really nutritious at all.

Hi youless! I do eat instant noodles and I never knew that instant noodles has been around for 50 years now. Now, I know! haha.. yes, I heard too that instant noodles are not healthy food but I still like eating them once in awhile. I think I eat instant noodles 4-5 times in a month and other times, I don't have even one within a month's time.
Take care always..God Bless!

Hi youless, I think no one would say no, thank you if a bowl of freshly cooked instant noodle is served in front of him. This shows that how great and wonderful the inventor of this delicious noodle is.
We usually would take it once in a week or in every other week for considering that it is not a nutritious and healthy food. Anyway it’s convenient and easy to prepare.
I liked the kang shi fu instant noodles very much when traveling in a train in china few years back. It’s really an unforgettable experience to take hot and delicious instant noodle in a moving train during cold winter season in foreign country.
posting and have a nice day.

Yep, noodles are tasty but they are not really that healthy. I read a study about instant noodles and how some types of instant noodles contain wax! Can you believe that? Some manufacturers actually put food grade wax into the noodles to keep the strands from sticking together. Now that is really gross. Since the time I read that study, I stopped eating instant noodles. i don't like the idea of having even food grade wax on my food.

Hi! Yeah I love eating instant noodles. I dont get to eat it as much as I used to because sometimes you just get tired of it if you eat it everyday. I do miss eating it with rice, thats all. No need for viands or anything. But lately Ive been eating a lot of instant noodles, especially the ones with the soup that is because Ive been sick for the past 2 days but I am on the road to recovery. Ate instant noodles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.LOL Good thing I was well enough to eat spaghetti last night and this morning I ate instant carbonara. HAvent had that much of instant noodles in years.LOL

I used to eat ramen noodles every day, but I don't eat them hardly ever. My little 3 year old grandaughter likes to eat noodles just plain noodles. She eats spaghetti without sauce and I used to eat macaroni alone with just butter.

In addition to the convenience & the good taste, it is also in-expensive. It is true that, especially the flavoring packet, makes it unhealthy to have too often.
One of the things I do is that since I like to par-boil chicken before putting it in the oven, I save the water that I boiled the water in by letting it cool off & putting it in the refrigerator or freezer. The chicken itself turns out juicier & not so dry when roasting it that way, in addition to cutting down on the cooking time. For my instant noodles, I just heat up noodles in some of that water, & not use the flavoring packet. I find that it comes out just as good. I also have a separate batch of water saved for boiling pork, & will use the water from that also.
I have also found out that I can use angel hair (including bean noodle or rice noodle or even the Italian dried pasta) & get the same result.

I like the noodles we get over here called Raman Noodles by Manuchan. The way I fix them I cook them for only a minute, so they are al Dente, and then I add the season pack and then I strain all the water. That way I have just the noodles.

I eat noodles almost every day of the week, exept only when it is saturday and sunday. Since it is fast and easy to prepare and i won't be late from work in the morning. I know it is not good because of its artificial preservatives but i think it it the only the quickest thing to be prepared in the morning. Anyways, it is still delicious. I have seen a new noodle product the contains 0 preservatives, i'm just not sure if you have heard of it before. My dad had tried it once but he said that it tastes a little different. He said it tastes a little bit like noodles and spaghetti mixed together. hehe :)

Hi...I used to eat instant noodles alot before I got married. The Maggi brand curry flavour is very nice. Now that I am married, I no longer eat instant noodles though sometimes I would be tempted to go and buy but never did. Since I got married, I cook my own meals, make my own soup base and add noodles to it. Much more healthy. Actually instant noodles are no good as it is very salty and the soup base contains monosodium glutamate. Oh dear......as I am responding to your topic about instant noodles I am thining of eating it now...hehehe!!! But nope I won't.
