This might sound sad, but I am 31 years old and I only have 1 close friend apart from my husband. Most people have lot's of friends, but I have only 1 apart from my husband and my question is how many friends do you have and how do you make friends? Do you ask someone to be friends with you or where do you meet friends? I have some friends at Church, but not ones I can go out with.

The only reason you have 1 friend is probably because you're in a relationship and spend alot of time with ur partner. When I ended a relationship with my first love I found myself with no friends because I useed to spend all my time with him. It's natural to want to be with the one you love. And in my experience ther are alot of idiots out ther. Ur probably just choosy.

Hi thanks for your reply I know what you mean when you say some friends are born for you. My best friend was my childhood friend and I knew her from when I was 18 months old and have never stopped being friends with her. She is like a sister o me. We have been friends for over 30 years and I love her to bits even though we haven't got loads in common she is the best friend to me. We have children within a few months old of each other.

it is not bad making new friends anyway...from my side i really have fun making friends and it doesnt matter who he/she was...Making friends afterall doensnt have any criteria. :)

It's not all bad you are right, but it is always nice to have a few more friends. However like you the best friend I have found is Jesus. I also have my husband and my friend who has been there for over 30 years. I have trouble trusting friends because I was bullied and walked all over, but the ones I have are true friends. Of course there is my daughter and my mum too. Thanks for your reply I appreciate it.

hello Mickie! well you dont sound sad at all, age is not important when it comes to any relatioship. I have 2 close friends and the rest are more like "people i hang out with". When someone marries friends tend to "diminish", this is not a bad thing. having lots of friends is part of being social. i dont personally ask "hey you want to be my friend?" Or "hey, lets be friends". These things just happen you know. like you meet someone on a library, bar etc... you invite them, like lets have some coffee etc...Its all about beign social. going out with your husbands, meetig your friends friends, and so on...its like a little chain....
Im a very social person, but i can only say i have 2 close friends.
