Hello,Jenskye! I don't find any justification in your statement. For the last ten years I am regularly sleeping in the afternoon for about two hours but I am not gaining weight or fat.I am as fine as before.Rather it has helped me to lower the blood pressure.thanx.

I have taken a lot of afternoon naps through the past few years since hurting my back. I am still as skinny as a stick, so I would have to say no
I wish it were true, I would take a nap every day until I put on a few pounds

I have always heard that taking an afternoon nap is good for your body.

Sleeping after eating will put on weight. We used to eat a lot in the afternoon and so it will definitely put on weight. Actually we are advised to walk for 5 to 10 minutes after having meals. Before that if you just sit on the computer also you will put on weight. But its definitely better than sleeping. Happy mylotting.

To be honest, i do not know the answer. But i was told that sleeping in the afternoon can make u fat and get a "double chin". It is probably because in the afternoon it is when u need to burn off calories of the food u ate. That is why it is said we can not sleep as soon as after we eat. On the other hand, i heard that sleeping or taking naps in the afternoon is healthy. Im as confused as you.

No. If you eat and then go to sleep immediately will cause weight gain. Since there is no energy to work off the food. And it doesn't matter what time of day you do this. Make sure you wait 90 minutes after eating. That will guarantee the food will have been worked off before falling asleep.

Sleeping does NOT make you fat. In fact, it can have the opposite effect. Eating more calories than you work off is what makes you fat. Sometimes people eat when fatigued. In this case, a nap instead would be most helpful.
