I will only do my packing on the day when i'm leaving, maybe 4-5 hrs b4 my flight ^_^ hehe =D Because there's no sense for me to pack so early when i will be using my daily necessities when i'm still here.. And it will be so troublesome to keep packing and unpacking it everyday, and end up forgetting to pack it in on the actual day.. lol
And that's the reason as to y, i never book my flights in the morning, as it will mean that i have to rush thru everything, and including my packing.. lol

I find it a waste of money to buy new daily necessities just for the short vacation because i still have got the existing one.. And if i cant finish using those things and bring back again, i will have double of the same things and both are used b4 ^_^ haha
Nope, so far i have not forgotten anything important when i do last minute packing because i already know what to pack, after travelling for so many times ^_^
When is your vacation and where?? hehe

oh i see the reason behind...hmmm me, those daily necessities i'm packing was all newly bought from the store...sounds, i'm too excited for the vacation...
So that's really a rush packing, right? So do you not forget important things, or haven't you experienced forgetting important stuffs since you pack the actual day of your flight?

Hi there sharie,
Actually, the question you have is a very subjective one indeed! Nice shot there! Well, I am an experienced mountaineer, though a little bit off-tangent to the topic, it still conveys a travel idea. Based on my experience, one of the absolute instances that a traveller don't wish to encounter is over-baggage. I have my own idea of packing in which I devised myself to avoid this dilemma. In my case, I tackle this kind of issue from the "How" perspective only. There were only few things that I am asking myself prior to packing, How long will I stay there and how much of something will I be needing? After determining these factors, I usually pack just hours before the scheduled departure. In this way I can avoid carrying things that might prove unnecessary. Keep packing guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Sincerely,
Natty Dread

Before I am a very active traveller but not this time. Many things have replaced some priorities, including travelling as well as hiking. But one thing I'm sure, I still have the passion for travel and climbing a mountain or more...Thanks for your time in reading my post...Jah Bless!...

It's great to have a packing list to give you a base to start from. We usually start with that a couple weeks before leaving. A clean house is important to come home to so we usually clean and do laundry the day before leaving. We usually pack a few hours before leaving. Traveling is enjoyable, but sometimes the packing can be stressful.

yeah, somehow stressful but stress wouldn't count if the places you'll going is very lovely...and as long as vacation or trip, it is actually enjoyable...
or should i say, once you'll reach your destination for travelling, you wouldn't count stress nor think of it...
Thanks for the post!

Depends on where I am going. If it's somewhere in the country, then maybe a day before.
However, if I am going out of the country, at least a week before. Just in case, there are things that I need to get or buy - there could be stuff that I can't get or don't know where to buy, in the country I'll be visiting!

i agree, depends on the country and depends if you really love shopping...if so then you have to carry a lil' so that when you're there you can shop as much as you can and not to have to heavy luggage...
Thanks for the post! Have a nice day!

depends on where i'm going. if it's a short trip, i can pack the day before. if it's a long trip, say few weeks or months, i like to pack at least a week early. i ALWAYS forget something, even if i pack a month before, so it doesn't really matter much, but if i pack a bit early then i minimize the stuffs left behind..

It depends if it's going to be a long trip or not. Sometimes, I's pack a couple of hours before leaving. Needless to say, it was a real rush. If it's a long trip (say 2 or more weeks) I usually pack a day or two before just to make sure that I don't forget anything. There was one time I almost forgot to bring money with me (haha! Of all things to forget noh?)Well... at least I was able to realize early on that I was missing the most important thing. haha...

Depends on how much time I've got to anticipate the trip - and how much I want to go.
I have been known to start gathering things several weeks early, and by the night before - or even 2 nights before - be all packed.
Other times I kind of threw things in a suitcase and got where I was going needed to buy the stuff I forgot!

About two weeks before I go traveling I write my packing list. Then over the next week I buy extra things that I might need on my trip. I always need to take a pair of ear planes to use when I fly on a plane. Sometimes I will take my snorkeling mask and beach shoes if I am going to a tropical destination. I always take my camera, memory cards and batteries so I check if I have space for new photos that I will on my trip. Then I pack about one week before my trip, that way if my luggage is too heavy I can sort out this problem. If I can't find things that I plan to take with me I put a star next to this item on my packing list. Packing for my trip with my toddler son this summer to go to Latvia was challenging because the airline only allowed baggage up to 15kg. I would be nervous if I packed the day before my departure in case I didn't have every item that I wanted to pack. Happy traveling.

I usually pack about 1 day before for short trips. If it is a long one, or a special one which needs a little more preparation, I'd probably start packing or think about what to bring at least a week before. Somtimes there is a need for bigger luggage and I would hate to repack my things at the very last minute if I find that I can't fit everything in.

I usually pack right before we leave. I will get things out and ready but not put anything in the suitcase until it's all there. If I put things in and still have stuff to get together I forget what I've got in there already and have to start all over again.

I just lay everything out right before I put it in the bag so I can see it then I pack it up right before we go.

I generally start to pack about a week before, and usually end up rearranging my bag 4 or 5 times because I start so early. I'm the complete opposite of my partner, who will literally just throw some things into a bag the night before, or sometimes the morning that we're leaving.
