Why oh Why Do Ebay have to make silly changes

I've just logged in to Ebay to update a few auctions.
Yuck, I was presented with their new design page, DOUBLE YUCK!
I can't understand it, they have made various changes since I joined (not all I liked), but most of these changes have been ok.
However this new design just doesn't do it for me.
It seems to present itself garishly, there is too much filling the top area and while the small pic on the left is larger there is no photo beneath as there has always been. This means that once you have scrolled down to read the description the photograph disapears because it has scrolled upwards out of the frame.
I think being able to view a description with a photograph in the frame is a much better sales tactic. After all when you look in a catalogue they don't print the desriptions over the page, that wouldn't help sell anything.
I get this horrible feeling with the new format we are going to see a lower sales price on items as it doesn't promote the item as well.
Please let me know your thoughts on this?
Anyone that feels the same as I, PLEASE PLEASE berate Ebay to keep the current original format.
Fingers Crossed!

As far as the new design goes, I neither like it or dislike it. What I want to say is I am not pleased with the silly changes eBay have made in the past.
One of the most stupid changes was removing the right for sellers to leave neautral or negative feedback for a buyer.... how stupid and how unfair!! If I have a nonseller or an idiot, there isn't anything I can say to warn people, except post a negative comment in the positive comment box, but then I would be breaking their rules... how stupid!!!

ps. there's a defamatory remark removal affidavit available on ebay if required.
Seems this is the only way they'll do anything to help.....

The problem with leaving a negative comment in a positive field box is it breaks eBay's rules (I believe) and most people will not see it (unless it's really recent) as it will fall down the page and be replaced with newer feedback comments.
eBay is not the website it was when I joined and although security has improved, I want the old eBay back!

I have to agree with you here, and I'm glad I'm not the only person to be dissatisfied with the changes. Why do they have to change the format anyway?
I'm all for change when something needs to be improved, but the word Yuck is definitely appropriate.

Yuck seemed the best way to express it without getting too upset and moaning too much about everything.
I do like Etsy (where you saw my jewellery), their fees are reasonable, you get 4 free pics, also their final valuation fee is much more reasonable.
I'm under the impression Etsy has received a large amount of funding from people who helped make facebook what it is, so fingers crossed for Etsy to become a more recognised site.
I'm hoping to list some more items (other tha jewellery) in the next few weeks, so do have a look back soon.
Also if you ever need anything made ever do consider me ;)
Fingers crossed other people feel the same about ebay

It seems, with ebay, that they are tend to change stuff more to keep their web designers busy than to fix any real problems. If they wanted to change something it should be how feedback is left. It is a pain to do if you do a lot of feedback at once, but only give feedback for buyers who have already left their feedback. THere is no way to simutaniously view and give feedback.

Valid point, I find they often spend money where not required. I would guess this is something to do with their financing statement, as to how much they've aside for this purpose and just feel they have to spend it.
Considering their other channels are completely useless, I'm guessing we can't expect any better from this team.
It's a shame really they make huge profits and could easily plough money back to the users rather than anything, thus making it more viable and increasing the number of buyer and sellers.
Most companies only look in the short term rather than think about the future.
Hey after all they are generally limited liability comapnies so who needs to look to the future when you can legally write off your debt. Shame the same isn't true for us.
