South Park vs. Family Guy...

I'm torn. I have been watching S.P. longer than F.G., and I have seen all the episodes of both shows. I might come across one I haven't seen, or one I haven't seen the entire episode of, but it's pretty rare. Sometimes, I miss a new one. Anyway, S.P. is definitely more of an adult show, but F.G. isn't that clean either. My boy will be 15 in a few weeks, I think he might be old enough for S.P. Holy crap! That's a bad show. Remember when Cartman found that wrecked semi full of aborted fetus'? Then was selling them for stem cell research to the highest bidder!!! I wasn't offended or anything, don't misunderstand- I laughed my a$$ off!! It was funny, o.k., I admit it, but my kids ARE NOT watching it. They don't have the capacity to find the root of the joke and separate it from their personal opinions. My girls are 10 & 12, not old enough for that kind of humor. Family guy is demoralizing to women. Bad. If Peter was my husband, I'd kill him. I totally see the straight up, in your face, degrade to Lois. It's funny because is supposed to be that way. It's not meant to offend... Oh, wait... Yes it is, but in a funny way. My kids see a lot of humor in it. They watch it all the time. There are some episodes they can't watch, I make them watch something else, but most are o.k. for their age. I tell my boy that if he ever treats his ladies like that, he's done for. I tell my girls that if their guys ever step on them that way, step on their soft spot. I use F.G. as a tool to educate my kids on respect and such. See why I'm torn?? I love both shows, but in almost opposite directions. At least in my mind. Good topic!!

family guy is hilarious but its started showing old episodes..

South Park is really intelligent "stupid" humor. Even though the stuff they do and say is ludicrous and completely ignorant, there is always a higher meaning to it. That's why they always make fun of the last few minutes, where they "learn something" and "teach everyone in town a lesson." It's on a completely different level from Family Guy, which is just plain silly. Still, both have their strengths and I think that's it: when I watch Family Guy, it's purely for entertainment purposes. I know there will be nothing of any higher value in it, whatsoever. But when I watch South Park, it can be challenging - especially if I disagree with Trey and Matt's point of view or message. South Park wins for me, but I have to admit I did learn something from a recent Family Guy: I was not aware that the bird is the word. Have you heard? Has everybody heard? Everybody knows that the bird is the word.

I haven't watched tv in a really long time, but my son was a big South Park fan. Every time I have ever had some insanely ridiculous one of a kind situation that had pissed me off that I would be telling him about he ALWAYS had a South Park episode or a Simpsons episode about the same thing! It's amazing! Anyway my vote would be South Park, because I love the way they 'cuss and swear' but it doesn't really count actually because I have never seen Family Guy.

I have to say Family Guy all the way... I am not a big fan of south park though... never could really get into it - I dont know why. But I think the best part is that it is based on a family and not just kids being kids

Family Guy is way better in my opinion Stewie is one of my all time favorite cartoon characters. I never got into South Park though so that could be one reason lol, Only ever watched 1 episode and wasn't really into it.
