I love hot foods though. At lunch time I eat the spicy cup-o-noodles. Then cool it off with some cool fruits (melons, pineapples, grapes and nectrines).

I have learned about it a while ago: the spicier your food is, the more your metabolism speeds up! And when your metabolism speeds up you could loose more easily some weight. But...........dont put any creamy ingredients into your meal also, because on the first sight you will increase your metabolism and on the other side you decrease it.

I thought I have read that on some weightloss site I used to be at. But in practical way its not easy to accomplish. If you threw hot peppers all over your food, the pleasure of eating them is none I guess. But if you have a chance to put in a little bit, it can help. I also heard some news about cayenne pepper as a pain relief, ofcourse I forgot where I saw that item and how it must be used. Something I DO remember is the following: if you are suffering from terribly cold feet and you cant get them to warm up, dip your feet in a large scale of warm water and add 1 tablespoon mustard into it. It will make the circulation at is best and will warm up your feet, and with warm feet you get yourself easieler warm too.

wow that's odd, mustard mixed with water to dip feet unto it.. that is something I haven't heard about until now. thank you for the info dude, anyways i can't eat some extra spicy food coz my taste buds aren't that strong to stand the hot stuff. i will just go for a mild spice if needed.

Hi there BigBadWolf_Aus! Here's what I found about eating spicy foods especially chilis: * Cancer-fighting and cancer-prevention - A recent study shows that capsaicin can be used to fight pancreatic cancer. It slowed the growth of cancer cells and in some cases, even caused cancer cells to die off. * Alleviate inflammation - Arthritis and psoriasis are cause by nerve damage and cause pain on joints. Capsaicin supposedly helps to ease that pain. * Relieve chronic pain - In some cases, spicy foods containing capsaicin greatly reduced pain caused by headaches or osteoporosis. * Heart-health - Cayenne and chili peppers can help to reduce cholesterol. Additionally statistics show that cultures that eat spicy foods (e.g. some Asian countries) frequently have a much lower rate of heart attack and stroke. I got it from: http://www.slashfood.com/2006/06/16/why-spicy-foods-are-good-for-you/

Spicy foods can cause heartburn and ulcers. I do not like spicy food I stay away from it. I have heard the rumor that eating spicy foods like jalapenos can make you lose weight as your metabolism works faster but I don't know if it has been proven as a fact or not.

The only thing I have heard about spicy food is that it opens up your appetite. If it is true then that's a good thing for me since I need to eat more (high metabolism, trouble gaining and sometimes keeping weight on) you see my dilemma. Anyway, that is all I have heard but one of the previous posts had some interesting facts and yes I love spicy foods!

I do not think that spicy food helps lose weight. But there are some spices which are good for body. For example there is an Indian spice called turmeric. Its yellow in color. It is used as antiseptic and people who consume it daily have lower risk of Alzheimers disease. Some spices like pepper contain vitamin c. Some spices like coriander(dried) helps cooling the body. Spices add taste to the food and I cannot imagine my food without spices. So I like it.

Well, I don't know much about how they pertain to weight loss, but I wouldn't reccomend eating to much of them as they can have other effects like heartburn. Too much is not good for you, then agin they say to much of anything is not too good for you! I think if you want to lose weight you should eat healthy foods. Low on sugars and fats, and remember to excercise. Good nutrition and exercise go hand in hand. Set your mind to it, be consistant with your foods and exercise and you will acheive your goal to lose weight!
