Problems your are naming means that your monitor will be unusable very soon. Refresh rate has nothing to do with it right now. I guess it is CRT monitor, not LCD, and if you still have warranty don't wait, it'll become worst. In most cases, this is problem generated from "broken" capacitors. However, there is another possibility, check to see if monitor cable (not power cable) is physically OK and well connected to your PC or even better, if you can borrow a monitor cable too see if the problem will persist. And if you are using LCD monitor, most likely problem is in connection with your PC not in refresh rates. Hope this helps you.

Sounds like it's going bad and might need to be replaced. How old is it? Do you leave it on all the time, even when you're not using it?

Check the connection of the monitor to your video card. Maybe its loose. Check also if it is propely plug into the power supply, maybe its getting low power that why it flickers.

Mine has the same problem. You can see the flickering and some lines that bend around one corner of the screen. I've had this monitor for longer than I can imagine and it's time to replace them. It's an old CRT monitor, but I think those are better than the modern LCD screens, though they are larger and less space-conservative. But the image quality on CRT are better, so I'm sticking with it. But for you, sounds like you need to start replacing that monitor of yours.

If you have a really old modeled monitor that your using..that would ushaly happen.. i mean like contrast changes ofter and flickering lights...I suggest you either get a new monitor or have a expert take a look at it..
