Yeah, I'd lose my appetite. I'd probably avoid fries for a year. But if it's a big group sharing, I'm sure all the fries would be gone before you know it. Once we had this fieldtrip in the commissary of ChowKing (a Chinese fast food restaurant) and we were allowed to eat all the dumplings we could lay our hands on. We ate so much that to this date, I haven't eaten a dumpling from ChowKing yet ---and it's been about 12 years!!!!

Well, honestly, it doesn't scare me because me and my best buds do that. It's fun sharing food, but of course we are neat enough to wash our hands before partaking the banquet, plus, we don't pig about while eating, we just take piece by piece. I'm sure you could enjoy that if you share with the people you are really good friends with, it's like sharing pizza. Try it, you'll see that it's fun to do too.

I do not like McDonalds, the smell of the place makes me feel sick, but people eating food between a group of them is not generally a scary concept. The scary concept is that people actually eat from McDonalds.

I guess you must have set next to me and my family. when we go out to McDonald's which about 1 time a month or less. My husband gets a full meal, and my daughter gets a kids meal. I only get a sandwich. we put napkins down on the tray. and drop his and her fries on it. Yep we are a gross bunch cause we share, as a family. One of us alone could not eat the fries. We usually have clean hands.
So I see nothing gross or disgusting about it.

Actually, I think that sounds great! Ha ha, there is this restaurant near me, that when you order food you also get unlimited steak fries, which are basically bigger French fries. I eat so many of them, and they taste so good. Admittedly, it is horrible for your health, but I work out a lot and usually eat OK, so I am alright with it.

What your saying is absoultely true when we see anything full before we eat we would just loose our appetite, it happens to my aunt's family members hope i learnt from them, when my aunt cook a dish they never bring the whole bowl in the dinning hall they just bring small amount so that they can consume and taste the food more and more... when we see a large amount of food we will definitely atleast me i will feel full ...

Scare me? No. I dont see what is wrong with a group of friends eating and sharign fries. I dont find it disgusting either, I mean unless they pick their nose and pick more up or bite one and put it back down I dont see the problem I guess.
As for someone eating alot that is their choice too, I wouldnt say disgusting either. Remember maybe something you do would be deemed gross or disgusting to someone else either. I myself cant eat a large meal but husband on the other hand can eat! Do I find him disgusting or do ur friends? No we just wonder where he puts it.
In the same venue you are free to pick up your food and go eat elsewhere or even leave and finish eating elsewhere.

Hmm... first I would like to ask, what is so disgusting about sharing a big tray of fries together?
When going out with a group of buddies, isn't it normal to just share the fries?
I dunno, I have been doing that pretty regularly during my school days, I do not see what is so disgusting about that.
I kinda find sharing like that kinda fun. And cheaper too. Cos instead of getting one pack per person, we can get like 5 or 6 packs for every 10 person.

Scary? Disgusting? Neither! If our hands are clean, & I'm jonesing for french fries, I'd happily share a tray with pals. What's amiss there?

I think that eating too much without sharing is what is disgusting. For me having friends to share your food with is really fun. The feeling of eating with friends is really a great feeling. With regards to eating too much the thing that I worry is eating too much of unhealthy food.

In my view, i do not think this is disgusting. Different countries has different cultures, so there is no problem for them to have different bahaviour. Maybe in United States, or the European countirues, that is behaviour is considerred as unpolite, and unhealthful to our body. However, in Asain countries, we can share the same plate with our friends or relatives, that is considered as the friendly relationship.Anyway, what is your opinion?

It's common in the USA, too. It's sort of like eating at home, where all the family's food is in communal bowls, then served up individually (if it isn't finger food such as bread rolls or fresh, uncut fruit) with large spoons into our personal plates. It's friendly & relaxed. The only difference in that & the communal TRAY Is the use of hands, & treating the fries as a finger food.
Some folks think of french fries as finger food, some don't. I'd grown up using a fork on mine, but first ran into the other POV when I asked a waitress for a fork for some fries, & she looked at me as though I'd suddenly sprouted antlers...then, grumping sullenly away, she fetched a fork for me, "Miss La De Da." LOL!
You say potAto, & I say poTAHto. /o)

I'm not sure how you can really be afraid of having to eat fries, unless obviously you're being force-fed them. Surely there is always the option of saying, 'no thanks, i've had enough'.
It doesn't disgust me in the least either, why shouldn't people share food? It's not as though they're licking it, then putting it back. They're just eating fries together. If someone wants to eat three large portions of fries in a sitting, then that's really their perogative. It's nothing to do with me if they wish to do that.

Well not really. I weigh 46 kg but I can eat probably 4-5 large fries, 2 burgers and a salad in McDonald's. Fries tastes even better when dipped in sundae(yumyum). Imean, it just really depends on the person's appetite and diet. If you are used to small servings, its normal to feel that way. But as for me, a girl with a really big appetite, that's just like everyday meal serving..
