why do you need a facebook

I am NOT the type of person who wants to be "in" LOL in fact just the opposite...I could care less hwat everyone else is doing to be honest wiht you.....HOWEVER i have a facebook account and use it daily..Why? to monitor my kids and their accounts and to stay in touch wiht friends and family from way back plus its fun

I joined Facebook because I wanted to see how these social networking sites looked like. I only have one though. I just wanted to keep up-to-date with the latest in the net. I don't want to be in a situation whereby people talk about something and I'm left out of the conversation because I don't really know what it is. I also feel that there is a need for me to keep up because in future, our kids will probably network like we do. Anyway, Facebook has helped me look for friends I have not seen in ages. It is also a great way to keep in contact with friends and colleagues. Some of my friends work or live overseas. I find emails not very interactive and we seldom keep intouch with our loved ones that way. I feel more motivated to send messages via Facebook to my friends rather than email. Other than that, I use Facebook to publicise my articles and blog entries. That's about it. I don't use it to play games which many people are addicted to.

Well if you don't want to open a facebook account then you don't have to. No worries. I don't see why you're having problems about it. If you can face the peer pressure then facebook shouldn't even be part of your vocabulary. I personally like my facebook account because I can view pictures my friends upload. It's also a very good way to keep in touch with old schoolmates.

Keep in touch with your friends, find old highschool buddies. I use it alot and i have lots of fun with my friends by sending each other fun things on facebook. You can also upload pics and videos and comment on each others. If you don't like it, don't go there. In my opinion it's alot better than myspace, definitely more community oriented. I am not on facebook because i want to be "in". Don't make judgements about something you don't know..

it helps you stay in touch with ppl that it would normally be hard to and networking is really easy on facebook.
