I am curious about the most natural way to cure high blood pressure because this has been my husband's ailment since he was still single, 21 to be specific. He got this condition from his parents who suffered the same. Since then, he has been taking medications for hypertension as his maintenance, to regulate his blood pressure.
It's been almost 20 years since he has been taking these pills for his hypertension and I'm very concern about its adverse effects (God-forbid). I want him to stop taking it but we both know he just can't or else his blood pressure will soar as high as 180/140.
I hope anyone out there can share generously his/her expertise on the subject, I just need it. Thanks to ALL!

my father also suffer from hypertension and his blood pressure will be as high as your hubby's... in fact, my father just been hospitalised in august because his hypertension got so bad and his blood vessels on his nose burst... it is so scary for us... i'm afraid that your hubby has to take his medicine for life just like my father because there is really no other way to control the blood pressure... and it is very dangerous if he doesn't take his medicine because when the blood pressure gets too high, it can burst the blood vessels in any part of the body... just like what happen to my father... good luck... take care and have a nice day...

I am with a company that has a natural alternative to blood pressure medications. It is made up of a combination of tripeptides, potassium, passion flower and pomegranate. I have an information sheet about it. Let me know if you would like it emailed to you. It shows the research on the product etc.

Try boiling peeled garlics just once and then let him eat them. As many as he can eat. Do it regularly. It does not have immediate effect but doing it regularly will yield good results after long time. He should Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. He should really switch to a vegetarian diet to lower blood pressure and lessen blood clotting. Reduce protein intake by avoiding eggs and meat for they cause blood pressure to rise. Do this along with regular exercise and proper rest. He should avoid salt, or limit its consumption from ½ teaspoon - 3 gm a day.
Other homemade remedies are:
-----------------------------
Lemon:
Lemon juice and peels are a rich source of vitamin P that prevents weakened capillaries.
Grapefruit:
Grapefruit contains vitamin P or bioflavonoids which helps tone up the arteries.
Watermelon:
Take liberal amount of dried and roasted watermelon seeds. They contain substance that dilates the blood vessels resulting in lower blood pressure.
Potato:
Boil potatoes without skinning them. It contains magnesium helps lower blood pressure and absorb very little salt. It contains potassium but no sodium salts. Therefore, is highly recommended for patients taking a salt-free diet.
Parsley:
Simmer 20 gm of fresh parsley leaves in 250 ml of water for a few minutes. Drink several times daily. Parsley contains certain elements that help maintain the healthy condition of the arterial system.
I hope these would help him.

This runs in my family, sadly, and we have not found any alternative medications for hypertension. When it is in your gene pool, you cannot really fight it other than taking medication. My grandmother had it, my mother has it, and sadly, I too will have it once I reach my fifties. If anyone does have any information on prevention or has any alternative medicine for it, I would love to hear it too because I have been on so many medications all of my life, I am sick of medications. I already have to be on Asthma and Allergy medication for the rest of my life. I should not have to add onto this.

Well i am just 26 years old and i am also suffering from hypertension. I discovered it 6 months ago when my blood pressure raised to 190/130....I did a lot of medicine for this but of no use. So the only solution i have found till now is to keep myself cool and not to think much. Whenever i get tense i just start playing online game. That relaxes me down very fast and to cheer me up. I dont know what you like. But whenever you get tense, immediately start doing thing that you like the most. It will keep your blood pressure in limit and slowly u will start to feel better. These days my BP dont get high because of all this. Hope it could help you. Take care of your health.

I heard that raw garlic, having a clove a day would help. Also having rolled oats for breakfast would help as well. It depends on what type of high blood pressure your husband has, but doing those two would not do any harm. In fact, it might make your doctor decrease his medicine. I did find this site http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/herbsvitaminsek/a/Hypertension.htm and it lists Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) as one of the ways. You can get it in a health food store, as well the other things.
I am on the border line myself, but mine is partly due to stress.

I have high blood pressure and take medication for it. The thing I have found to be extremely helpful in controlling my high BP is to drink poemegranet juice. This juice which I drink everyday has been helpful in bringing my blood pressure down to normal levels. it is good also to make foods from scratch and try not to eat too many prepared foods. Foods low in salt are the best thing you can eat for high blood pressure. I hope your husband will do ok. It is defintely a treatable condition.

My dad used to eat fresh garlic. It helps a lot. But you won't be able to cure the garlic breath. Garlic helps lowering hypertension.
Make your husband happy all the time. Don't make him worry. Don't tell him bad news.

hi! well, there are some alterative solutions to lessen hypertension such as use of herbs is the common and easy way to treat high blood pressure.
Garlic, cinnamon, sunflower seeds and green tea are some of the common alternatives that you can be use and guaranteed no side effects and can easily be find in your kitchen. It can really help to lower elevated levels of blood pressure and bring it with normal limits.
2 or 3 cloves of garlic can really be helpful to lower the blood pressure and even reduce the cholesterol. If your husband can't tolerate the odor you can even fry the garlic just slice it very thinly and fry the garlic until it become medium brown remove it right away in the pan because the heat may overcook the garlic and it will become bitter. Let it cool and let your husband eat it.
Cinnamon, aside from using in your cooking it also has a health benefit. It can lower the blood pressure as it facilitates the circulatory functions of the body. Just a pinch of cinnamon powder daily can be helpful you can put it in his coffee or even in his food. Aside from that, cinnamon is also helpful to reduce the blood sugar, lower the cholesterol, treatment for diabetes, diarrhea and flatulence.
One or two cups of green tea taken daily is also a solution in bringing down the blood pressure level.
Sun flower seed, just a handful every morning and evening with 1/2 cup of celery juice (an effective potassium-sparing diuretic) for 1 month.
If constipation caused by hypertension take 500 grams of peeled banana with 15 grams of black sesame seed daily or as long as constipation persist.
I hope this alternative solutions can help you and your husband to lower his hypertension just choose and try, it will mean no harm. Take care and hope to hear feedback about it. Good luck and Good health always.
Happy my lotting...

Hello! As your husband is a hypertension patient he must take regular medicines.besides he must not smoke or drink. He should do some exercise like walking or gardening. If possible do meditations daily at least once in the morning.Remain dietary control.don't allow fast foods or foods rich in fats. For him a diet rich in vegetables, low on animal protein and moderate intake of low fat diary products will be best.Recent studies have revealed that a glass of beet root juice a day can help in reducing high blood pressure.so why not drink a glass of beet root juice every day with his breakfast.besides let him join a laughter club and laugh loudly everyday as laughter reduces blood pressure, normalise heart rate and prevent heart diseases.thanx.
