lol...
ok, obsessed with the toilet today!!!
lol...
but just asking, how many of you drink from the tap in the toilets?
sometimes i do it, but only if i have really no choice and there are no other water scouces
or if i dont have enough money to buy a dink.
i only do it if the toilet is really, really clean and even then, i will let the water run for a while, before placing the bottle under the tap, WITHOUT touching the dispenser.....
what about you?
have you done it before?
how do you feel when you see people doing stunts like that?
and yes, singapore's water is clean to drink from the tap...
so no harm there!!!
lol...

This is something I would definitely not do unless I was really starved for water.
In fact, I've done it here in Trinidad, in the Caribbean, where the water is not so bad, but as for the other people who frequent places like this, I have really serious doubts about the safety.
Its not really the water, its the other people who might be using the same facility.

you talk like you are drinking wateer from the toilet. this is not so. you are using the tap in the sink in your bathroom, not the toilet. so it should be just as clean as that from the tap in the kitchen sink. people are so nitpicking here. I use my tap in my bathroom sink for water all the time.its clean and pure. My bathroom is a private bath room.

We do not have our taps located right besides the toilets here in Canada, well in our homes we do, but in our homes we also have our kitchen with the taps there and in Alberta, Canada they have separate water tanks in the house because their water is horrible.
I have drunk out of the tap water that is located in a public washroom and that is nowhere near the toilet. (I guess things are different in Singapore. Maybe you should contact your health department about this.) However it is hard to do, since you can only put so much water in the palm of my hand.
I prefer to use the water fountain next to the doors, but sometimes they are not available.

Ulk! lol We have a supply of purified drinking water which we order every other day. To make sure we are drinking the right water that is good for the health. There are many diseases coming out today. And some comes from water.

lol... i also do that... but very seldom... only when i am really forced to do so... and as you say, i will see first whether the toilet is really clean or not before i do that... and of course the tap had to be clean too... otherwise, i rather buy a drink or hold my thirst and wait until i reach home and drink if i didn't have money to buy water... take care and have a nice day...

I agree I wouldn't drink from a tap in a public toilet, just think of all those e colli bacteria floating around. But I suppose I would too if I was dying from dehydration.

Hihi,
Over here in Singapore, our drinking water is quite safe as per internationally recognized standards. This means that we can just turn on the tap and that water coming out is drinkable.
However, I always boil my water first. We just don't know if one of the pipes along the way might have become rusty or whatever... wouldn't want to drink unsafe water.

Hmm... I have been chatting with you for so long, I never realised you are in singapore. 8p
Well, ask any man who has gone through NS, and they will tell you that they have drunk from the toilet taps countless of times.
As long as the toilet is clean, it should be fine to drink from them.

raclie you make this sound a bit misleading. the tap is in the sink, not in the t oilet. you are saying you use the tap in the b athroom to get water, so whats so awful about that? If you keep your sink clean the water is the s ame water that run in your kitchen sink. why would I go further than my private bathroom tp get a glass of water? the water is clean and is the same water that runs in the kitchen sink so? we are being silly here. Water is water. Yes I get glasses of water from my bathroom sink. who does not?

Nah, I don't think I could do that. There's usually a water fountain close by and I'd use that. Now, in my own home I would, but not out in public.
Yes, you are obsessed with the bathroom today! It should be interesting around here :)

I don't think I have ever done that. They usually have drinking fountains outside the restrooms and if not, then I mostly bring my own bottled water.

Hi there raclie!
You will never see me drinking from the tap in the toilet. No way! Even if the toilet is clean. No way! I do not really have to worry about getting thirsty as I always bring my own water bottle.

I don't really see what difference it makes, kitchen or toilet tap, the water is the same, it comes from the same source. As long as the tap is clean, what is the problem? I have filled my water bottle up in the toilet sink before.

Well I have never done that before. I always make sure I have water with me or if I don't have water I buy a bottle and have. Or else I buy a cold drink and have it. I would at least never drink water from the toilets in my country.
Even the water we use from the taps in the kitchen for drinking purpose we always boil the water to kill all the germs as water is not all that safe here. you could fall a little sick especially during the rainy seasons. In a country like yours its a total different scenario all together.
