Do you have to be in the mood?

I find myself getting tired of scrapbooking. I mean that I have to be in the mood to do it. Once I get in the mood I can do several pages. But then when I get out of the mood, I can't seem to get started again. Maybe it's because a lot of the pictures I have are old and some I don't remember what year they are. How do you keep yourself from getting bored with scrapbooking?

I guess I don't really get bored with it, because I have so little time to do it. Most of the things that I want to scrapbook have to do with my family, and because they are so young it's easy to know when the picture was taken. I know that there are times when I find it hard to be creative. In those cases, I just look at the pages that other people have done, and pick one I like to copy.

I'm not sure other than I'm a scrapaholic lol. And I am lucky enough to have a work area where I can keep all my scrapbooking stuff out and handy. I don't have to 'clean' up and pack everything away each time I scrapbook. Plus I love taking pictures and scrapbooking. I am trying to not do too much scrapbooking at the moment, since I will have a whole weekend to do nothing but scrapbook at the end of October. My daughter and I are going to a weekend scrapbooking retreat at Virginia Beach.........45 days, 6 hours, and 45 minutes.....but who's counting? lol

I have been scrapbooking for 9 years now, so I can understand. Sometimes I'm not in the mood. Usually that happens when I have done massive scrapbooks for other people as gifts. I get burnt out. I just do other creative things, like bead or photography. Or I will do cards and tags, something a little different. When I see my pictures, that's when I get excited about scrapbooking. That's the problem I have had lately, the photos are all on the computer until I print them out, so I don't see them. That and I have no time. So, take a little break, I'm sure you'll see something that will spark you to get back to it.
Oh, I will also go buy some new embellishments, that will get me going, thinking up new layouts.

Yes, I definitely have to be in the mood to scrapbook, but it's only because I have to dig all of my supplies out. I can not leave my supplies setting out, because the only place I can do any of my scrap booking is at the dining room table...where we also eat!! When I am not the mood to scrap book, I find that if I keep buying cute things to scrap with helps me to keep in the mood.

I generally wait a while then develop a bunch of pictures and then work on the pages that day. Then I wait a while longer so that way I don't get tired of it and I remember when the pictures are from and what not.
