Before we can live without it but now it seems everybody has one and cant get out of the house without it. Some people owns 2 or more of it. People prefer chatting thru sms even if they have landline phones. Is it really a necessity?

It can be both, depending on if your home alot or not. I had a cell phone for 6yrs. and thought I couldn't live without it being I was never home. Well, I can no longer afford one so learning to live without it now. I found it wasn't hard to give it up at all. Guess maybe in my case it was more of a want than a need.

I guess it really depends on the lifestyle of the person. If he's always out then a mobile phone is a need specially if he has a business or working in the field.

Man has to chang himself according to time otherwise he cannot cope with life for maming the life comfortable man has his needs.three or four years ago the mobile was considered as want .it was very costly and beyond the reach of common man . now a day it has become the necessity of life because the life has become very fast in these days .with the inovation of new technology the faster communication is required.land line phone is also importantit has its own advantages but mobile is more improtant because u can find /talk to person who is roaming.u can contract a person who is very far from u and slove your problem without wasting any time .it make our life easy.it should not be used for idle works. it should used according to necessity.

Well, I think for it depends on the persons work and activity. In most cases, when you are working already, it becomes a necessity. But for some who does not need to be contacted it just a want. Some students can live without cell phones some cannot. So I guess it really depends on your status in life, on what you do most especially when it is job related.

I guess is both a want and a need. Before landlines people also lived well without a phone and now people also have more than 2 home lines if possible. So now I will say that it is both a want and a need. Since I do not have a car, I need to keep in touch with my loved ones.

Wants and needs change with the times. In this modern era we live in, speed is held up as a need. We can't wait a few seconds for elevators, we can't wait a minute for our computers to load, and we certainly can't wait a week for our mail to be delivered. Cell phones speed up communications, and they certainly are a need today, when we need to contact someone urgently.

Hmm, I think that, nowadays, a mobile phone is a necessity, especially for people on-the-go. I, for example, am part of an auditing firm. Being assigned to different clients, the only constant means of communication between my peers and bosses and I would be through SMS or cellphone calls. However, the "want" part comes in with respect to people preferring certain brands or models of phones and, as you mentioned, having two cellphones at a time. That's more of a luxury than a necessity, if you ask me.

hiii!!!! Actually mobile phones are want in the world which we live today.....Because when there is an urgency and if somebody wants to call us this is the easy of communicationif a person dont own it it becomes complicated..But our elders dint have t his facility.Technologies are developed only fot the betterment of humans na?Why to avoid that? But it should be used properly.Using mobile phones during class hours isnot at all fair. This irritate the staff who is teaching and also it brings bad impression about students.Every action has equal and opposite reaction na?So mobile phones has both advantages and disadvantages and it depends on the person who use it.

for me it is a want, well for some odd reason, I don't feel the need to have a fancy phone, all I need is something to communicate with my family and friends.

Maybe ten years ago it is a luxury or a "want" but by this time mobile phone is a need. It can now be considered as a necessity. It is commonly use for communication purposes.
