No my mother also did not show me how to cook i myself had learned how to cook. I used to help her while cooking in that way by watching how she does it I learned from and after that i used to experiment cooking by using all ingredients and taste it how it taste. Some dishes I used to ask mother what are the ingredients and the quantities to be used.Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

i am extremely srry for my writing style here i will again write my reply in a legible manner - my mom taught me a lot about cooking since i love to cook and seeing my interest my mom helped me out in giving a few tips here and there i make it sure that i do the cooking at home whenever i com during my vacations. Because i like to give them a break from their monotonoud life. But as u all know that we all like to do experiments so it generally happens that i somtime cook better food than my mom lol

I did help my mum in the kitchen during my teen years but now evey day and not often. It was only when she needed help and would ask for me. Other than that she will say go study don't come into the kitchen. So I did not learn much about cooking from her. but now that I am married, I cook at home and I do call her up to ask her for some advise and tips on certain dishes which I am going to cook. And I get the tips from her.

My mom never really taught me how to make anything but I do know how to make some of the dishes she used to make. Considering my mom isn't the greatest cook, if I try to make one of her recipes it never comes out quite as good as hers.

My mom taught me how to cook the things that I know how to cook. When I was younger she always wanted to teach me more, but I never wanted to sit down with her and watch and listen what I needed to do in order to cook certain things. Now that I am older I wish that I had let my mom teach me how to cook, then I would have more of a variety of what I need to cook. Now I am always asking my mom on how to make things and I can never get it right.

My mom was more of a frozen dinner and hamburger helper kind of woman. If I wanted homemade food I had to fend for myself. I actually started watching food network and picked up all of my tips and tricks from them. My dad also is a great cook, he managed and cooked for denny's and luther's bbq for ten years each. Although I was never around him I think its partially genetic. My mom always tells me I cook just like him. But honestly, thank God for food network or i'd probably starve! :)

My mom taught me some things, but most of it I picked up by watching her cook. She cooked very basic, southern types of food, so I learned to make biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, corn bread and things like that. I still cook that way.

My mom taught me a lot about cooking. I watched her when I was young and helped her with the cooking. My mom was a very good cook. She was also a very good baker. If it was not for my mom I would not no how to cook many of her good recipes.

My mother is 100% Italian. She loves to cook and also had a mother who was an excellent cook. She shows me stuff all the time. I do cook every now and again. Some stuff I make up and like to experiment. Other times I look at her recipe cards. It is hard because she has been doing it for so long that she doesn't even use measuring cups most of the time. So when I cook it doesn't taste exactly the same. Her way of measuring is now by a pinch or a dash. So when it comes time for new learner to pick up some things, for now I go by the book. But eventually I hope to get just as good, and be able to pass that down to my children.

Unfortunately no one ever taught me how to cook. Which might explain why I am so awful at it and hate doing it now. lol. I taught myself. I would just go in the kitchen and experiment or either go online and look for recipes.

My mom taught me some things. I think I learned mostly from my two grandmothers though and one of my grandfathers. When my mom would work when I was a kid I would go stay with my grandmother and grandfather and they would cook things and I'd watch them. Also, I would stay with my other grandmother sometimes too and I'd watch her make different things. I guess I just picked it up from them. My mom taught me some but I think I learned more from my grandparents.

My mom was definitely a 70's mom. Canned food, boxed potatoes & macaroni, etc. She taught me a few things. But overall, she just wasn't that good of a cook. I learned most of my cooking on my own. Now I am a very good cook. My children, their friends, my brothers, family and friends all love my cooking. I make a lot of dishes from scratch because I love my children's reactions to my cooking. I love it when they are impressed. I just feel like a superstar when they go on and on over my cooking. As a result I am forever trying and learning new dishes.

I don't know that my mom actually taught me how to cook. I think she more just let me help when I was a kid and I picked up the basic principles of it. Now, however, I love to cook and my mom teases and wonders where the heck I get it from. She claims not from her cuz she hates it. ha! I plan on letting my daughter help as much as she wants though. She is already very interested in helping and with any luck, she will say that I taught her when she gets older. :-)

Nope, I learnt how to cook basic dishes from my housemaid. She somehow watched my mom cooks, so she used to prepare the ingredients and my mom will cook the dish. So my maid taught me how to cook. Since then I just learn most cookings my self. It's funny how my mom or most moms want their daughter/s to know how to cook but never teaches how.
