We are back home after running from hurricane gustav. We went to Tennessee last Sunday on the 31 of August. We came back home and the whole way here I was praying they would have my power up by the time we made it home and they did but we haven't had cable for the past 2 days which means no internet so I have been going crazy just a bit b/c now we have to start getting ready for the next hurricane. I hope we don't have to leave but its looking like we might have to. We are going to the inlaws this time around. I am starting to get tired of running from these storms but its not like we can just pick up and move. My husbands job is too good and everyone in my family is here. We didn't have any damage by the way which was a good thing but we may have to replace our fridge b/c its making this aweful noise and my dishwasher seems to not be working like it was before we left. So how did everyone else make out with the hurricanes?

I am just thankful we don't have hurricanes on this side of the continent! We have earthquakes and I am not looking forward to the big one but my hat's off to you guys on the east coast that take these storms in stride. How disruptive it must be to pack and run and then wait it out not knowing if your house is safe. I am glad you only lost appliances in the storm!

I would say earthquakes are more scarey then hurricanes. They are worse then tornadoes. Earthquakes you never really know when they are coming so its not like you can get out of harms way. I think I would rather my hurricanes lol. We have bad luck with appliances so its not new that we lost some for the hurricane. Even though our life is kind of not all the way on track and we won't get any kind of assistance we are at least still alive and doing well. Thanks for responding.

Born in raised in new orleans area. Yes I am happy for my family that they are there for me. Texas and parts of Louisiana are bad and I'm looking to see what I can do to help someone else out.
