My local beaches have dangerous tides and sinking mud. In any case the water would be too cool to swim in during the summer let alone the winter. There is a boating pool with a sandy beach. Some kids swim there but only in the summer.
I have a membership with my local sports center. I love to swim in the indoor swimming pool year round. Even more so I love going in their health suite because it has a gorgeous jacuzzi. It find it relaxing and warm in there. Especially on a cold winter day I love going swimming and being in the spa.

My family and I were just at a resort in Wisconsin Dells. I live in the next state over and it is winter here in the Midwest. Usually it is really cold and snowy, but this year we have been spoiled with above average temperatures and very little snow. The day that I left for WI Dells was one of the snowy days we got, so the drive was horrid and people were in the ditch. But when I arrived, I forgot all about the drive. The resort we stayed at has log cabins (or condos) with a fireplace. Looking outside at the snow with the fireplace on while reading a book is so relaxing. However, when we were not in the cabin or out to eat, we were at the indoor waterpark swimming and having a BLAST on the different slides they have there. I even relaxed in the lazy river. On the last day before we went home, we went to the indoor waterpark again and one of the pools and one of the hot tubs are both inside and outside. There were people sitting in the hot tub outside on this day, but I was not one of them. It is so fun to be able to do fun, summerlike activities, like swimming during the winter months. Otherwise it seems as though the winter will never end.
