My first English name question was a bit easy I think so I wanted to narrow it down. If you are a Filipino, you must know what ALUG BATI is (I'm sorry if you don't). The question is: What is its English name? A clue would be this: M---b-- N--h---a-- If you have studied Nutrition and Dietetics from the Philippine Normal University, you must know it 'cause I got it from a friend who studied there hehehehe...

According to the book "Healing Wonders of Diet" by Varona and Godoy English is Malbar night shade leaves and its scientific name is Basella Alba. Before I read this book all I knew was that it was Spinach - that which Popoye likes to eat.

Alugbati is one of my favorite veges in philippines, when i moved in Uk i'm looked them here, but i notice that spinach is similar to alugbati and i asked my husband if spinach is similar to our filipino alugbati which he saw from our back graden and he said Yes, similar to it, so maybe the english of it is spinach.happy myloting!
