Do you enjoy being employed?

I come from a family of employees. My folks had always told me that being employed is the best way to be stable financially although not actually rich. But at this moment, I am already in the process of putting up a small business to augment my meager salary and hopefully in the long run be able to be my own boss and be financially stable through the business I would be able to put up. Being employed means you have to follow schedules made by your boss, prepare reports for the company and all. Or in short, you are working for them. you don't work for yourself. That's one thing I would like to differ from my parents. I would like to put up a business to create jobs, and not look for a job. How about you, do you enjoy being an employee?

There was a time when I enjoyed being employed. That was right after my graduation. Now, it's a whole lot different. I do not enjoy anymore being employed but I love my job. If only the government recognizes what an Air Traffic Controller does and change the system and structure of the agency, everything will be better. Yet, I'm still here, waiting for my business to kick-start. And when it does, I'm leaving my job for good.

Whereas I do enjoy my job, I do not enjoy being employed. Does that make any sense? I love what I do. I hate that I do it for someone else to reap greater bennefits from it than I do! I work the 60 hour weeks, I take care of the customers, I deal with the vendors, I cover my bosses butt. I love what I do. He and his wife work a grand total of about 20 hours a week combined, they drive the Corvette and the Porche. I am not a fan of being employed. There is a business owner inside of me! I just haven't figured out how to make it happen yet!

It does make sense if you look at it the other way around. For some, being happily employed is different from enjoying the job. For some, it is just the same.

That's just what I'm really talking about. I guess we have the same sentiments. Although, I enjoy my present job, and risk being part of it, until now,I am still fascinated by what I do. Imagine having the safety of thousand lives in my eight hour shift? But come to think of it, i still work for my boss and the company to get paid. They determine how much they would pay us. Isn't that something to think about?

I enjoy being an employee now. I just graduated back in March and now I'm working as a software programmer. I am learning how the whole employment system works and enjoying the benefits of being an employee. For now, I'm happy working as an employee but of course, like you, I want to put up my own business someday and be my own boss.
