When you cook and some have been left, do you like putting it on the fridge and just re heat it when you are hungry again? It is a common practice here in my house. We sometimes left some food un consumed and so we just put it in some plastic wares and re heat it when time comes.. Do you also practice it at your home?

yes of course... specialy when the food that will be reheated came from a restaurant har har har. joke. me and my wife does that. we are only three in the family and my wife sometimes cooks a lot more than we can chew so we just heat it out the next day and eat it. whether it is pansit or pasta or ulam. a new cooked rice will make it perfect for the reheated ulam.

oh I love that! we came from tagaytay last weekend and the Buffalo soup that we order still sits from the fridge (and that is after 2 days of reheating, the serving is so large) and I am planning o have it reheat tomorrow and put some veggies on it.

I prefer not to have leftovers; there are only the 2 of us, so I would try not to cook too much food. However if there are leftovers, we would keep it in the fridge, and reheat it the next day. My mum used to cook more for dinner, so that she could reheat it for lunch the following day - I suppose this will save cooking time.

My mom is like that too. she intentionally cook more and set aside. she says it is her way of saving cooking time

I hate wasting food. All left-overs I do gather carefully and kept in the refrigerator. I never allow them standing for long outside the refrigerator. Then I heat them again when eating time comes or I also do some recycling if necessary. We have to be very practical. Time is hard!

We practice that always. My mom cooks more food and saves up what is left. In this way we save up on cooking time and on the gas too. and also when ever some one is hungry they just have to re heat what is on the fridge.

We almost always have leftovers from dinner for the next day. I love leftovers. I find that sometimes when eating leftovers it actually tastes better the next day. Most of the time I make too much just to have leftovers.

We do use our leftovers if we liked it the first time around.. We use the plastic containers and then re-heat the items as we want them.. It is a quick and easy way to have a snack when you are too tired to cook.. Sometimes they get pushed to the back of the fridge and turn green before we find them again, then it is to the garbage with them.. Leftovers are good for when someone lives alone.. You can freeze the containers and then microwave them as you need them..

Hi ...yes we practise re heating food in our home. Any food which we can't finish during lunch, will be stored in a casserole in the fridge. It will be reheated and eat again the next day. We don't use plastic wares for re heating food in the microwave oven - not advisable - even though the plastic is of a reputable brand or high quality. My husband says plastic is plastic. So we reheat our food using porcelain, glass or clay wares like corningware or pyrex.

Hi pehpot, I am also guilty of reheating food oftentimes, but you know it's not a good practice actually. I can't just paste the facts that I've read that using the microwave often is not too good for our health. It's because you use an artificial heat when you use microwaves. The radiation that our food gets is not good and we eat them so it means we somehow take the radiation too. I still have to get the facts though. I hope I may be able to share it with you the soonest. Happy lotting!

Yes, we always do this at home. I am the one concerned with left overs to save it rather that putting it in the trash can. Specially when there is an occasion in our house, even mealtime is not yet set I put some of the dishes in sealed wares to be put inside the fridge so i can save time to cook again the next day and so on. Practically speaking, you can save not just time but also your money when we have left overs. We can dig on something when hunger strikes. I love cooking but it is more practical if you just reheat left overs than cooking again and again. Just be sure to put it in fridge to prevent fro spoiling.

Right now, that's the most practical way of doing our day to day routines. I'm fine with it as long as I won't have to eat it consecutively.
