The price of gas has jumped again!

What is with this? The price of oil drops, which is the excuse for the jumps. Now it is dropping so they start reducing the amount they are producing. It just infuriates me that it can jump 30 to 40 cents at a time, but goes down to pennies. Yesterday it was $3.47 a gallon, today it is $3.79. There is absolutely no reason for it. They do not even expect the hurricane to affect their production. I heard that they are blaming the reduction of production for the reason. Why couldn't they just have left it alone? Doesn't it just make you mad?

I read that we have to be careful, but they found oil in the states that will supply us for at least 50 years alone. It is more than what the other countries have, but we are not touching it. They just kept telling us it was because of the price of oil, and now it is only $106 a barrel compared to the $150 it was when we were paying $3.99 a gallon. It looks like it would make a large decrease in price, not up.

That's the way it is. Any business will rape their customers if they can get away with it. And if that's the price, we'll just have to reduce demand, which we are. If we reduce it enough and it impacts their bottom line and their shareholders, they'll probably get a little more realistic but it will take a couple of years. We need to push research and development of solar and wind power, and nuclear power and refuse to use any more gasoline than we need. Take the bus, walk, bike, combine errands, just make it felt in the pocketbook of Big Oil because that's the only way to change it.

We need to start creating nuclear energy, Wind and solar power and drill and refine the oils in the wells so there is more than one source of fuel. But even then there is no guarentee that the prices would be less. The reason being is mankind is selfish and greedy and will gouge ever chance they get and the more wealthy and powerful the more greedy.

Wow. That is a huge jump. That hasn't happened here. Gas is still hovering around 3.54 a gallon here.

That is still enough. Oil was the same price a barrel when we were paying $2.75 a gallon. They don't need to use that excuse. I just cannot believe that they have decided to produce less a day. What good is it going to do to take the ban off off-shore drilling, if they are going to limit is and keep the prices up.

It is frustrating when the price of oil is hovering around $100 and the price of gas is still so high. When the price of oil was this low last year we were seeing gas prices of $2.85 to $2.99. What can we do about this. Should we call the local gas stations to protest. Maybe stage a silent protest on the lawn of the gas stations, or maybe we should call our local news stations to say that we are noticing this and it seems like price gouging!! Any thoughts on this?

I am sure they have some excuse, but I don't buy it. As bad as the economy is, you would think they would try to do what they can to help. I don't know what we can do.

you know iam only 22 but i can rember gas being 120 and sometime gas stations holkding.99 specials the way i figure it is if therre gonna keep prices high they should do the special maybe once a month .99 a gallon for sure they can limit it to filling that car up once a month but it would help and now it looks like they need to stop talking about drilling in the usa and do it but then again it may not help because like you said oil prices are low and gas is still high

The price of gas has jumped again. It is a huge burden on people.Day to day expenditure becomming untolerable to common people and this price of gas increasing made wrost.Rather than reducing the price increasing to high percentage which is a very big barrier for transportation.

yes my dear friend, u r absolutely correct that the increase of price of gas and fuel is causing a great stress on our life and the government says that it is inevitable as it is phenomenon of international market forces and it is out of its bound to control as the gas and fuel prices have deregulated from government fold. But the government should not say like this as the government must initiate some special steps to check proper use of gas. As one estimate says that 30% of domestic gas is going to block marketing and other hoarders or commercial utilisation. On account of this we have coming across of acute shortage of gas and long waiting for delivery of essential commodity. The rise of gas prices have causing gulloping rise of all other essential commodities.

i don't know... the price of gas here has been quite stable lately fortunately... it really helps a bit in saving my money for gas... i can allocate the extra money for other purposes... and there is no use for us to get mad because we can't do anything about it by being mad... take care and have a nice day...

In my area the gas and food grains prizes have been raised and it is really difficult for us to lead a life here and you know what the oil prizes are twice the rate where other countries pays and now the production of electricity has come down so we are expecting a raise in that too .. I thought only my country is really facing such things but it is so sad to know all the people around the world are experiencing some problems one way or the other

I honestly don't know why the price of gas is so high, according to the market it's at 102.? a barrel. If I'm not certain, but the gas prices should be a lot cheaper. So I feel something is way wrong here, even though the hurricane won't hit any oil rigs, but in it's path are the refineries. Either way, our gas prices are going to go back up, before this is said and done.

Yes, it makes me mad, but what can I do about it? Nothing. So I just pay the price they are asking and go on. I rarely fill my tank anymore though, I buy just enough to get me where I absolutely cant avoid going. As long as people keep riding, the prices will go up. And I just cant see us giving up our cars for bicycles and horses? Can you? lol ;)

Strange, over here at our place is dropping. Hmmmm......... Our govt is decreasing the price of the gas, and the COE over here is dropping for small capacity cars and even the price of the cars dropped too....... What's going on, if that's the case. Everyone will go buy cars and our car is populated with cars. And cars will be more then human......

lol how do you think it is paying over 7 dollars a gallon? & your complaining at under 4 dollars a gallon. Wait till it gets to what we're paying then you'll have something to complain about.

It's really crazy how the gas prices jumps higher unnoticed. Much more in our country where it almost reach a 100 bux per liter of gas. But the rollback is only a few cents. There is really something in the economy that needs immediate government attention. The worst part here it that even the gas prices already have tax over it, that makes it even costly. We have no choice but to pay for it of course, but is there something the government can do to roll it back to its previous prices? The prices of commodities also being affected, that makes it even harder to suit our living standards.

Gas keeps going down here. This morning when I left for work, the gas stations that I drive by near my apartment were $1.76/gallon. This afternoon, these same gas stations were $1.69/gallon. But they will find any excuse to raise the prices. Maybe they raised the prices because someone stubbed their toe or got a hangnail from the weather getting colder and drier. Who knows, but it is inferiorating, especially for those of us on a tight budget!
