That sounds so good! I'd love to try and find a recipe for beef barley soup and see if I can manage not to ruin it. LOL Thanks for the response!

I like the Chinese hot and sour soup. It tastes delicious and is very spicy. A perfect choice for a cold and rainy evening :)

My favorite soup for cold days would have to be chili. I like to make it with fresh tomatoes and peppers. I also will freeze some of the left over chili to make chili cheese fries with crumbled bacon on top. There are so many meals that you can make out of chili it is cheap, convenient, and very yummy.

Hello,Sparkee! Soup is my favorite drink.I prepare it myself at home.First I take some vegetables like carrot, beet root, beans, peas, green chillies and a few cloves of garlic and tomato, cut these in to thin pieces and fry for a few minutes or till it gets tender and grind the stuff to make a thin paste than add water as per requirement and add salt, then heat for a few minutes and serve in the bowl to drink. This is my favorite drink in winter season.During other seasons I never add chilly to the soup.the soup is a healthy drink.vegetable soup is good for breakfast time drink.thanx.

That sounds like a good, healthy soup, and I imagine the chilies give it a little bit of kick. Thanks for the response!

Have you heard of Arroz Caldo? It is a wonderful cold-day comfort soup. :) It is a rice porridge with chicken. I love Arroz Caldo when it rains. It warms not only my body but my heart as well.

I like a nice big chunky vegetable soup, with different types of vegetables in the soup, I can't stand thin runny soup so for it has to chunky of packed full of wholesome vegetables to be enjoyed. Chicken soup is good too and the combination of chicken and vegetable can do wonders and make you nice and warm when the winter sets in.

I like most any kind of soup, but my favorite to make on a cold day or when I am feeling blue, is potato soup. I cut the potatos up small, use real butter and whole milk. I also add chopped onions and a little bit of chicken bouillion for seasoning. It is full of calories and chlorestorol and I don't care!!!

I can totally understand wanting to eat something hot when it is cold outside. I am the same way. I like to curl up in a blanket and eat chicken noodle soup even when I am sick. I also like clam chowder or even I don't think this is a soup, but I like to eat it when its cold outside and that would be gumbo. Mmmm, gonna need my mom to show me how to make that quick when I see her again. I am wanting some now that I mentioned it.

I'm a big fan of clam chowder, or any chowder for that matter on cold winter days. However, nothing really beats a nice bowl of chilli with cornbread on the side.
Soup has got to be one of the most perfect foods. It's filling (studies have found people who eat soup, eat less), it's nutritious (think of all the veggies you can hide in a good soup), and it's soul-satisfying. Add a sald or sandwich and it's a meal the entire family can love. Soup is easy to make, normally you just throw the ingredients in a pot and wait. For me, it's my favorite. There are endless varieties and it makes me feel good.

I just love an onion and potato soup with fried onios on grated potatoes and cream and milk. I also top it with some grated cheese, prefering Regianito. YUMMY!!! For me that`s the ultimate comfort food.
