What? Never had pumpkin doughnuts?! Oh, you poor thing...you don't know what you're missing. LOL Where I live we have an annual Pumpkin Festival where they actually close down the schools for a few days in October, close off most of the streets in town and have a giant party. There's every kind of pumpkin food known to man, including a few things that you wouldn't think a pumpkin should be made into, including pumpkin pizza, chili and burgers. It's really fun. :-)

I love the way nature prepares for the winter months by the changing of the leaves as they fall off the trees, the different colours are stunning, where I used to live we had a country road that went into the woods and it was a lovely site all the trees and leaves changing, it made you appreciate being alive and nature. I also love the smell of smokey bonfires lingering in the air, the only thing I don't like about autumn is Halloween, I don't like the tradition to be honest. The best thing I like is that it gets much cooler I do not like the heat, not that I have to worry too much in the UK about it, but autumn brings the cooler, if not damper weather which I can bear.

That country road sounds beautiful! I, too, love the smell of a wood burning fire. Thanks for the response. :-)

Hi Sparkee73!
I things that I like about Autumn, the yellows, rust and golds, the early morning air that bites into your lungs, the stillness of forests and nature, being cozied up on the sofa with a good book and a roaring fire while the wind outside howls!

My thoughts go right along with yours. Halloween has always been a favorite for me even now that I am a forty year old woman. I think that it is a change of season and the crispness in the air that you mention that make it special for me.
The change in the foliage and such are an extra bonus too. I have always liked pumpkins and I will get one if I have the chance. It seems like a fleeting season and you have to enjoy it as much as you can before winter comes. Not that I don't like winter. I think I enjoy the change of seasons.
