Is it really true that no matter how you feel that their is always someone that feels your pain too or even worse?

There's an old saying, "I cried because I didn't have shoes until the day I saw a man with no feet"... There always will be someone worse off than you are or I am or anybody else for that matter... Even though some people genuinely care about what you're going through, always remember that it can't be as bad as some other people... There were period of times when I felt depressed, I'd bring a bottle of rum & a buddy to a local cemetery & drink myself silly then tell my buddy, "at least I'm doing better than half of these people here!!!"

I am sure this is probably true. But it is not always easy to find this person, especially if you've been through a whole lot. And oftentimes when you meet people who can relate they want to compare who's had it harder. This makes it hard for you to talk to them and relate anyway. They are always trying to outdo your pain.

I think it is true, there is always someone with way worse problems then your own. Though looking back on things I have been through if their is someone with worse problems in their life I feel sorry for them.

I do believe this but it is not always to look at that when you are going through a tough time. It would be good if we could always remember this but we all are just human beings.

Wow. What a great question. I think it's true. I have been/am going through a contested adoption. I was pressured to give my son up for adoption at the hospital and lied to to get the deal closed. I've been in court for months and it seems as though I take one step forward to take two steps back. I just spoke to someone who has gone through the same thing and they understood me and my feelings and pain to a tee. It was an amazing experience to have someone understand you like that. As for worse pain, I think that is a question that can't be answered. I feel like there is nothing that could happen to me that would bring me worse pain then this. I'm sure, however, that there are people that are going through something completely different that feel the same way about their pain. I don't think it's important to know if your pain is better or worse than those of others. The fact is everyone has pain in their lives and if we can understand this and sympathize or empathize, society would be closer and united all around, IMHO.
