No I don't. I don't have any friendly neighbors, that's why.

I have borrowed a few things from my neighbour though I feel shy to do so. But I have got this amazing old lady as my neighbour who keeps giving me something or the other. Theirs is a family of 10 people and they keep cooking something or the other in tonnes. So I really enjoy some lip-smacking dishes made by her every other day and have also learnt the recipes from her. As for borrowing, I have borrowed tomatoes, curry leaves, coriander leaves from her so far. I have also borrowed some tupperware from her when I got a lot of guests in my place once. So, borrowing is ok as long as we maintain good relationship with our neighbours. Infact, I think it creates more bonding with the neighbours as they also start borrowing from you after some time:)

yeah i agree you must have a good relationship and borrowing can also build a nice relationship with them. wow that old lady must be so nice and a really good cook. playing a role as a neighbor and borrow some stuff from them, its a nice gesture if you be nice to them and help them out if they ask for help or ask the same favor as you have :) thanks for posting :D

Well, such things happen and no matter how you hate it, you are forced to either borrow or go without it. But when i have a good neighbour, i borrow otherwise i count it as my lose.

I experienced the same you, but not often. As a matter of fact borrowing sth each other sometimes could improve and strengthen the relationship between neighbors. Certainly do not do it if neighbors do not like this.

I dont like the idea of borrowing, but if someone will be asking (not borrow) , i wud give out...my question to you. So if ever you borrow a teaspoon of sugar in your neighbor, do you 100% return or change later that day?. Or you will just forget that you borrowed it? LOLS...peace!!

It depends upon the relations you have with the neighbor. If these are social too and family relation then there are always exchanges. When I was young enough and was at my native place I remember that even if the neighbor needs some cooked vegetable or any thing there use to request and it works at that time. In this urbanization through the things have been changed and people feel their prestige issue and they will remain hungry at home but will not request for. It shows that our social bindings and values are diminishing day by day. How do you feel please comment and have a happy borrowing cream and sugar. Please do not mind.
