Which style of bed linens do you prefer?

Most of us spend a great deal of our lives in bed, so I was wondering what type of linens you prefer to dress your bed with? I've always been partial to plain white, but that doesn't mean that I don't like to step out of the box from time to time and go wild with color.Last year I redecorated my bedroom in shades of burgundy and taupe(or coffee). I really liked it for awhile, but soon found that it just wasn't me. I have told one of my daughters that she can have all of that stuff when she moves. I went back to old pastel bedding which is more soothing to me. Have you ever chosen colors that later turned out to be all wrong for you?

It has to be 100% cotton. if it has polyester in it I will feel it and be very uncomfortable. Color? I love dark blue. I have two sets of dark blue, one light blue, and a couple pastel sets.

Give me Flannel sheets, I know some think how redneck but ever since my mom said that she tried them and I went and got a set to check them out, they are for me! As for color, I love color in mine but I like more the abstact look or Indian designs in colors you would find in nature during the fall and spring.

I have tried the flannel sheets, Ithink, and you can't beat them for cool weather!

My favourite is Egyptian cotton my friend, ever since I was taken to a beautiful country hotel where the bed linen was Egyptian cotton I was hooked! I love the feel, the luxury of it and that is what I have, you may pay extra for it but it's well worth it, I like white because it's lovely and cool and comfortable, all I need now is a double bed to fully enjoy my sleep!

I have different patterns some of which I have had since I got married 32 years ago. I don't really care anymore as long as they are clean.

I see you are a lot like me, winterose. Holding onto things is really a big deal to me. I have stuff from what now seems like another whole lifetime.

I see you misread the topic of discussion, stephcjh. That's OK.

When I moved here I painted my room a dark, rich, royal purple. I hung burgundy drapes with a lacy, white under curtain. My sheets are purple set and a deep rose pink set. My bed head is a rich creamy white cane and the lamps are white. My doonah covers are shadeds of purple, pink, blue...there are different doonah covers that reflect my moods, soft pastels, brights and rich and luxurious. I love my room and my bedding...it makes me feel special.

I have also slept on many various styles and colors, Aurone, so I guess it's safe to say that what I like depends upon my mood at the time.

All things being equal, cream, you've got to allow for his tastes too.

I'm not a big fan of flowery or swirly designs, and like to keep it plain and simple. Maybe overlapping gradients of soft colours like blue or green, that makes it relaxing. Just thinking about it makes me want to go to bed.
