Everybody lies at some point in their lives. It can be a small white lie, or to cover up a mistake, or so on. I try not to lie too much and being honest is sometimes better than lying.
Lying can impair relationships and hurt the feelings of others so that they cannot trust you anymore.
How often, and why would you lie to others?

I try not to tell a lie. I know that I would need it sometimes for the good cause of course, but when you are lying, you're making yourself vulnerable of handling the facts. You would be able to get caught anytime and that would be a bad thing if you really get caught in the wrong moment of your life.
You are right, once you lied to someone, you would lost the trust. In fact you need the trust from another people to make everything in your way possible to do. Lie is something that someone should avoid to do.
I lied sometimes, like what I said before for a good cause but still lying like that would make myself uneasy and no comfortable every time people believe and talking about that. It would make me feel guilty of telling people the 'made up story' and all.

I don't lie often. I hate lying because I don't want to be lied to in the first place. I guess the times I do lie, it's because I don't want to hurt someone else's feelings. So I resort to making a white lie. Example, someone gets you something that you don't really like and they ask you if you like it, it would be hard to say no right? So I would say yes... Besides, it's the thought that counts.
