I must admit that doctor and scientists have always puzzled me with their findings. I was reading on BBC site that "drinking three or more cups of tea a day is as good for you as drinking plenty of water and may even have extra health benefits, say researchers."Up to my knowledge water purifies your body and that we should drink up to 2 Litres a day. Caffeine is included in coffee, tea, some soda drinks. I was always warned to keep tea addiction to a minimum.
Which research are you going to believe? Is tea more beneficial than water?

I'm not a scientist so I wouldn't know..
But from reading I found out that tea contain anti oxidant that help eradicate "bad" cell in our body and that would help prevent cancer, but if its said that drinking tea would be healthier than water could be somewhat misleading, I mean I agree that tea is a healthy drink, but I personally think that human still need plain water, and tea cannot be substitute for that..
Tea is also contain caffeine, but unlike coffee tea give less caffeine than coffee.
I like tea so much, but I dont get addicted to tea, its not like not to drink tea for a day would cause me headache or something :)

Tea has lots of things going for it such as flavonoids which are even more cool than antioxidants. You therefore get the benefit of water and all the cool things in tea that make your body healthier.

It sure is hard to keep up these days with all of the findings and other information documented on a regular basis. I have heard that water is beneficial for you and that you should drink plenty of it.
I have heard some things about tea also. But then of course there is that concern over caffeine. I do drink a couple of cups of coffee a day but not too much. I think that anything in moderation might be the right way to go. I have also heard that caffeine in coffee is actually a good stimulant for the brain.
There are probably going to be ongoing studies on all of these things just to make life interesting I guess.

Tea and water do two different things for your body. Tea can deliver oxidants, which is good. But we tend to add sugar and milk or cream to it which makes us gain weight. Water helps your kidneys flush impurities from your body as well as helps keep blood pressure lower, but too much will flush minerals, too. Both are needed and I find it hard to believe that one is "better" than the other. I wonder what caused them to change their minds?

I am a tea drinker and I do drink it more often than just plain water
my husband though is a coffee drinker and I always encourage him to drink more water than coffee
I know caffeine is in most of coffee types, but very rare you find it in tea
at least this is what I see when I do grocery so not sure about the process before it hits grocery stores
I don't think tea is more beneficial than water or coffee in that regard
but since you have to add water while making them anyway I guess as long as it's the right composition (not too heavy, not too light) and quantity in a day it shouldn't hurt

Hello Ronald! Tea as health drink helps reducing cardiovascular diseases, prevent cancer and improve the immune system.Tea contains antioxidants which boost metabolism. But at the same time water is also essential for our body.Water helps regulate and maintain body temperature.Water transports nutrients and oxigen and removes waste products and toxins. It moistens and lubricates our mouth, eyes, hair, skin, joints, and digestive tract. In the process we lose enough water from our body.So if your body does not get enough water you risk dehydration, elevated body temperature, fatigue, decreased mental and physical performance, and heat related diseases.so it is essential to drink at least two liters of water daily and three to four cups of green tea will keep your bodya nnd mind fit.thanx.

hi ronaldinu well in my experience greentea is full of anti
oxidants and is good for you. however you should drink 8 to 10
glasses of water a day for maximum good health. three glasses
or cups of green tea plus your 8 to 10 glasses of water will
be really good for your health. So there is some truth in all
those allegations however I just use my plain old common sense
and do what I think is best for me.

Balance seems to be the key to everything in life. If we don't get teeth stains, dentists will be out of their jobs :)

Yes, I've hard of this new theory before. However I prefer water as I'm not a great fan of tea. And of course, one can easily get addicted to tea. Too much of anything is not good...

Actually its very much confusing to me....because i like tea very much. and when i will be in office i prefer to drink water...i came to know that if we drink enough water required to drink in a day for a person then he never have to face acidity problems So i tried it for 2-3 months and really it makes good effect on this probles. I will suggest that if you are also facing acidity problem just try this one. So again Tea and Water confusing.
