This is a diet plan designed to lose weight very fast, like before a surgery. You eat only certain types of foods on certain days. This kinda works like a Chemical breakdown in your system. It is said that if you follow it exactly that you could lose between 10-17 in 7 days.
I thought that it was interesting and would like to share it with all of you.
Here is the link to check it out:

Have you ever tried this way of eating before?
Would you try it?

I printed it out, and I'll start it as soon as I can get to the grocery store to get the things required to do it. I'm so sick of being overweight, I'll try almost anything!
Thasnks for the tip. For a week, it couldn't hurt, right?

Hey there!
I started this today.. I am doing ok with it.. i ate a lot of fruit today, and the yummy soup. I feel like I would have liked some protein But I will live.
Tomorrow is veggies and soup. I am thinking I will be less hungry tomorrow because their are less carbs in the veggies then in the fruit.. keep me posted as to how it is going for you when you start!

This looks like the cabbage soup diet from the 80's and repeated under several different names since then. Back then it did work as for losing the weight. I think it was for 2 reasons...1. You will be in the bathroom all day, everyday from the cabbage soup. Also by the end of the week if you see that soup one more time you'll start gaging...lol. 2. You loose basically water weight and on the off week you will normally see the scale go right back up.

This is true, thats why I dont try any of the "let me tell you what to eat" diets or gimmicks. I am certain that only with proper eating and exercise will you loose and maintain.
You are right that you need to do something that you can live with and eating 8 banana's in one day, or all beef and tomatoes etc. just wont cut if for me, that sure as heck ain't something I am willing to live with.

This recipe does not call for any cabbage though,, even though I did add a little. Well, I was already dieting before I started this. So I think that my water weight had to be gone by then.
I think that it must be like any other diet,. once you lose the weight you have to set a goal to maintain that weight. If you go back to you old eating habits then you will gain weight. that is how you gained all the weight in the first place!
So you have to change the way that you will eat for the rest of your life. Or you have not learned anything, and will get your old results, which was weight gain.!

Hey LouiseKnittel. I read this diet and it sure is interesting. I must say that it is quite odd. The website where it's found doesn't look like a reputable health website to me. I haven't ever tried this diet before. And I don't think I would because I doubt I could get through the first day without more protein, cheese or fish or something.

Well I did it for the whole week and lost one pound.... so...I wish I would have lost more. But I know that I did my body some good. Not eating all the junk that i could have been eating.
the soup is good. I will eat that cause I really like it.

That is very similar to the cabbage soup diet that has been going around since before I was even in high school. I noticed a link to the Cabbage soup diet on the page you linked to. I have never really tried it before, so I do not know if it works or not.

I have tried the cabbage soup diet before.. this soup is a little different you do not have to add any cabbage to it at all!
I made a pot of this soup yesterday,. It is very tasty. I did add some cabbage to mine!

As an interested observer(and Louise' husband)I gotta say this diet impressed me. The base ingredien(the soup) is fairly tasty and homade with fresh ingrediants. The foods used to make it are high in vitemans and fiber and mostly come under the heading of "free" foods in other diets because the calorie/fiber tradeoff means they don't really add to your daily calorie count. Most impressive is that Louise is sticking to it and enjoying it.
equally imprssive is that it seems to be working.

Louise,
Did you do any more of the diet? What was your final weight loss? Is any substitution allowed? My coworker brought the soup today, but I noted it was loaded with red peppers. I just can't stomach peppers, red or green.
Did this diet work wonders for anyone else? If it doesn't really work, I don't want to waste my time.
My main problem is that by the time I get home from work, I am way too tired to exercise.

thanks for sharing this. I usually seem to add pounds during the winter & then shed them from about May as I find it so much easier to eat healthy when all the salad stuff is in season and therefore both cheaper & more readily available. It hasn't worked out that way this year as I've been unable to maintain my usual activity level following surgery. However, since my consultant is recommending further & more complex surgery, I might consider giving this a go....
