very little responses

I have been scrolling through the discussions, and noticed that there are not many responses. I have seen so many discussions with zero responses, and a few with one or two responses. What is the matter? Has the quality of the discussions stopped or there is nothing in our interest that is interesting us? This is so strange we either can come up with interesting discussions or we can't come up with quality responses. Which one are you???

It may just be that mylot has been acting up for hours now, it is hard to post because things are moving so slowly. Or, it could just be that a lot of people are busy somewhere else

Thank you, I really did not pay much attention to the slowness, but now I do remember being stuck with my hour glass hanging. I was wondering what was going on.

Hello sudalunts. I think that it takes some time before a new discussion receives a lot of responses from friends. Of course a good discussion that can interest a lot of responders will have lots of responses and also it is very important to have active friends because they are usually there to help their friends with the responses to their discussions...Thank you for your discussion. Happy posting.

Some of my discussions get responses and I get so many, others get a normal amount, and others get hardly any. I think there are two kinds of people, those who respond to fluff and those who respond to serious discussions. There is a third kind that respond to discussions that really belong in a chat room and I am not that kind. So are you talking about yourself or all of us in general? So if you are talking about your discussions just say so. I do not like to be classed as we as if we all are robots and all would jump in the lake at the same time. If you worry about someone not answering your discussions, tell us what interest you are having no responses in. What I did was to get more friends in those interests. Also it helps to get more friends. Oh I will see if I can answer at least one of your other discussions.

The blood of the right thinking people getting white. Though the population at my lot is increasing but the people liking detailed and interested discussions on some material and content are decreasing or opting for the casual discussion on which they get plenty of responses. I have read so much that people making quality discussions are seldom responded and they are offended by this started opting for the stories people like. How you see it please comment and have a nice discussion to be posted again in detail I will be responding. Sign me as friend if not already.

I think a lot of it has to do with who you are friends with. It seems that a lot of the regular people mostly just look at what their friends right and that keeps them busy. I'm more of a casual user. I stop by for a few minutes here and there in the evenings while doing other things. I respond to random discussions that catch my eye from the topics up top. I think that I'm in the minority though and most people are in some little circle of friends or another. There is nothing wrong with that, but sometimes it leaves us casual evening people out in the cold as far as having people to talk to.

I think it's quality discussions. I'm including the ones I start myself. Some people have very good topics that are just worth responding to. I don't believe that some discussion get the same exposure as others. It may be ranking, or the time of day they were posted.

Well, I think part of it for today is as someone else already posted back on here, that this site was acting quite slow for everyone, so people quit trying to post in here for a while, and in reality, I still think this site has been quite slow compared to a couple of months ago in the amount of people actively posting back in here at any one time. All I can say, is I am still around and not going anywhere.

I sudalunts, ........yeah I have noticed this too, but it also depends on how many good friends you have here........I also had this problem when I had started here on mylot, but later on as list of my good friends increased day by day, I started to get more and more responses, because friends always respond to each others discussions and friends of your friends also respond to your discussion and this way we have no place to complains. So I will say, try to make a group of good friends. This will make mylot very interesting and you will start enjoying here. Have a nice day.

I beleive it has to do with the circle of friends. However what I try to do is go to the no response section and try to get the discussion going. Most of the time these are newbies and they just need a push start. Some of the topics are sort of hard meaning that I have no knowledge about it so I leave it alone.

I've been looking through the pages with little or no responces and they are great in number. I don't know whats going on. I try to participate as much as possible by posting responces, and posting discussions. Sometimes it does get hectic, with a family, and college, but i still manage to get at least one a day started, and reply to a few also. Mylot is all about discussion, and participation, if they see that you are on here a lot and you reply and start a lot of dicussion that get responces, then that will show on the amount that you make. Keep up the great work, and I will try to do the same. Great discussion.

You must be seeing my discussions. They never get much response. lol I think too that there is just soo much on here that it's hard to pick and choose. One can only respond to so much so someone is going to be left in the dust. I was having problems earlier with mylot being slow, but right now it seems to be working fine for me. I know I hate to have discussions with no responses so I often go to the "no response" tab and find discussions there to post to.

I guess a lot of factors - response motivators vary from one person to another and should not be indicative of quality. Some reasons may be - 1. Avoidance of redundant answers - not all people are savvy answering questions giving the same reasons... this may also indicate people are reading through the thread before replying and understanding each posts 2. The posts requires not much space for responses - this is not going against quality, it is just the nature of the posts A lot more can be written as to myLotters response behavior. Though a lot can be attributed to the fact that people are looking forward to earning and would rather focus on quantity rather than quality, the general view on the number of responses as an indication of the quality of the posts should not be the main focus. Good day!
