Everyday you wash, shampoo, wash and dry your hair,in most cases it is over done. Most people commit one big mistake when it comes to washing, they do too much of it.Shower in the morning, another after the gym, maybe even one before bedtime. If your washing your body like this I think you should cut your time in the shower to five minutes for your skin's sake.If you spend hours in the shower, that's too long.Make sure you use a shampoo that contains mostly natural ingredients.Frequent use of un-natural chemicals are extremely bad for your health.
Too much washing results not just in cleanliness but in removing too much oil from your skin, and itchy and irritated skin, particularly in the winter months.Take some time to look over your shower habits.Decrease the time in your shower .
Do you wash too much? How long do you stay in the shower?

Oh my dear daughter...your mama does not have the luxury of time to stay long in the shower. I only have up to 15 minutes and never spend more than that, otherwise I'd be late. And so I am doing my skin a big favor! You have points there. Too much washing will remove the natural oil. I also do take a short shower at night... and it is a real short one... around 5 minutes and I am not washing my hair at night. And you are very right dear, un-natural chemicals are bad.... so we always have to go natural. Have a nice day!

Yes I got it mama,I guess having no luxury time to stay at bathroom is a blessing to people like us.Ha!ha!ha! That's why we have got superb skin I wash my hair at night because I used to exercise after work and I gotta get all that sweat out off me and wash my hair.My grand ma says that,it is not good for you to wash your hair at night, unless you dry it well with a hair dryer.Well, she calls me every Sundays and never forgets to say that.Have a nice day mama

I shower everyday in the morning before going to work. I cant do wi thout a simple bath, and change of clothes everyday. All my worn clothes go for a wash and I wear fresh clothes everyday. My bathtime is for about 10 minutes as i have to run to work. But a bath is a musst.

I agree too much washing is a bad thing.
I have sensitive skin. I have to take a shower everyday because of it.
my skin is super dry because i was born with Eczema but its funny because people always tell me what soft beautiful skin i have and i think its like that because i exfoliate every day and i put lotion on probably 3-4 times a day and more then that on my hands.
i always shower around 8pm every night. I keep it around the same time because my skin is just very weird but if i shower too early before 8pm, like if i showered at 3pm it would probably bother my skin. it's that sensitive. so always at 8!
i shower for 25-40 minutes. i do take long showers a lot but its because my skin.

I am one that may or may not take several showers a day. One a typical work day I take one to help me start my day feeling fresh and clean. I take one after work to refreshen myself, it just washes my day away and gives me that second wind that most of us need to get the evening going with dinner, the kids and the husband. The morning shower is always the quickest for me. On my off days I still take a quick shower in the mornings and then depending on my activities for day like yard work, deep house cleaning, or errands in town. That is me. I have thought about the washing to much oil from and skin. Thank you for that info. It was helpful.

I shower everyday and I try not to go over that. I agree that washing too much is bad for the skin. I have also read somewhere that the chemicals in the water could cause cancer if you're exposed to it too much...
I always try to decrease the amount of time I spend showering but it never really works...

I take shower twice a day, in the morning and before bed time..I don't spend too long for both session! The most is that 15 minutes and night time shorter than that!
Sometimes also when I am tired, I will just take half bath means excluding the hair and just washing the entire body hoping that I will save those oil of my hair from too much washing it might ruin!

Hi there, thanks for posting this. I actually shower for about 10 minutes daily. I don't go over twice per day. Normally I shower once and that's it. But sometimes I can't help it if I go for a swim or if it's really hot outside. I don't really know if any of the ingredients in my soap and shampoo are natural, but I don't get any allergies so it's fine. I also moisturize a lot. :)

I use Tea Tree shower gel and Tea Tea shampoo and conditioner, but I will have to cut down on my shower if you say its bad for my skin.

Hi tamarfireheart tea tree oil, shower gel shampoo and conditioner are very good.If you are sitting there for along time daily,I am afraid you better cut down the time for you skin sake. When I feel really really tired and had a very very hard day,I will actually sit in the shower and soak my head for a little long time.but, not very often.
And making home made shampoo, conditioner and soaps are great!

Well..I cannot say which is better for you Humbug but, don't spend long long time daily in there using un-natural products.Do some research when you purchase them. bunch like to mix things up,taking a shower some day and bath others.
For me showers are better because they use up less water, they allow you to wash and rinse and they are fast, baths allow you to wash but can't really rinse off the soap or dirt,if we are sitting in there for hours..we are just soaking in chemicals and some time dirt too,it is not good for our skin,I rather use plain warm water to sit in the bath when I needed to relax or when I get tired or a headache.cheers...

I usually wrap up in half an hour but sometimes when I am really tired I just lay down on my tub and fill it with warm water.
I even like warm showers which could take longer than just half an hour.
Happy myloting!

Hi there silentkiler, you must be having a good time there It will not harm you once in a while when you get tired.Actually if you have a really bad headache, laying down in a tub with warm water will reduce the headache,It is also a very good treatment for migraine too.

I really dont shower everyday as I feel It tends to spoil my hair.I make it a point that I shampoo my hair on alternate days and make sure that I dont use too much o shampoo.I also make sure that I use one specific brand.During sundays I also apply oil on m hair and then I shampoo so that it gets to be soft. When I also be that I am hot and sticky then I make sure that I take a good long shower and shampoo.
Regards

Some days I can spend an hour in the shower and some days only a few minutes. It actually depends on my mood and the availability of warm water.

I shower only once every two days, and I only shower for about 20 to 30 minutes at the most. I try not to spend too much time in the shower because water can be scarce around here. I do not begin to smell until the second day anyway, so taking a shower once every two days is not that bad.

Like most people, I take a bath regularly or daily as long as I don't feel feverish. But on certain special occasions, I would take a bath twice in a day. And when the weather is ultimately or extremely hot, I would go to a maximum of three showers.
Well during weekdays, I usually take less number of minutes, about 20 minutes to half an hour, in taking a shower because I still have to do some preparations like combing my hair, brushing my teeth, and changing to office uniform for a particular day. Aside from this, I also have to allot about 30 to 45 minutes travel time from our rented house to our workplace.
But during weekends when I don't have to hurry in the bathroom, I consume more than 30 minutes for this activity. I must admit that I get to enjoy my shower this way, rather than taking a bath just for the sake of washing the body and feeling refreshed.
Ever since I got married, I had my hair cut short or up to shoulder level so as to minimize my shampoo time in the shower and combing it afterwards; as well as cutting costs on shampoo and conditioner which I use about 3 to 4 times weekly.

Good day... I just spend a maximum of 10-15 min every time I go to the bathroom and no longer than that. I mean I just finish my morning routine as fast as I can so i could go to work early.

Since it is very hot here I take a shower everyday. I do it for just 15 minutes though everyday. In this country taking a bath everyday is part of our culture and if you don't do it expect everyone here to ask you to have one especially if they could smell you. Thanks for the tips

That's very nice and at the same time you are doing a big favor to your skin.If it is really hot and humid outside then I shower twice but,I don't shampoo or condition my hair again.I use a very mild body wash that contains natural ingredients and has no strong smell or any other chemicals.cheers..

Hi,
I believe all you say is true, but...
I love my shoer time. There's nothing like a hot water after hard day's work. Maybe not for hours, but 30 minutes for sure. I get clean and what is even more imoprtant, relaxed.
I remember working 12 hours a day once, and my only, believe it or not, only way to get back on my feet again was shower. So I don't really care for my skin - there are far more extremely bad things for your health than showers. :)

Hi there miziou,I know what you are talking about, taking a little time in shower if your getting it once a day is not going to harm you much.Everybody loves it,even I do.For me there is nothing like taking a quick shower after having a hard day,it will get me fresh in no time, relax and then only I can enjoy my dinner, its fine with some people because its different with everybody.
