I just responded in post by a newbie asking if mylot pays-coz he read somewhere that this is a scam site, well even if I havent reached payout I believe this is an honest site.
I guess some people consider it a scam because it takes a while to earn. Some presume that if you post a 100 comments you earn a lot, but not realizing the quality of post and eventually just stop and they are the ones calling mylot a scam site because they failed to reach payout.
For all the newbies-all I can say is dont watch your earnings grow-just participate-youll find that participating in discussion is priceless because you become wiser if not smarter.
at the end of the day-its not just all about the earnings.
happy posting everyone!

Thanks for the advice and i agree the part that we shouldn't look at the part of earning to participate over here. Just post to what ever discussion you interested and make sure quality is important than quantity. Have a nice day and thanks for the advice once again.

Part of the reason some of the Newbies may think it is a Scam is due to people that were once members here, and have been banned are going around spreading that this is a Scam, when in reality most of them made more than I have on here, and just upset because someone turned them in or something.
I would Honestly tell everyone that you will not get Rich being a member of myLot. Even if you spend all of your waking hrs. in here, you could not make as much in one day that you will make working for someone else. The extra that you make in here, is up to you, and I feel the things you learn in here, and the people you meet in here makes up for anything the money does not as well.
Wishing you the Best.

I wouldn't exactly jump to conclusions with "its impossible to get rich here"... honestly, I wouldn't expect to be rich anywhere around your ranking (no offense, I'm just saying) or anywhere close to 100,000 ranking for that matter. If there is one person here who has 1 million to 100 million ranking, then I think its safe to say they're damn close to being rich and are making more in a month than what they make at work.
However I haven't seen anyone with that type of ranking yet, so until then we shouldn't be so quick to rule out the possibility of getting rich from here. The reason I'm talking that high of a ranking is because from my point of view, u have to set your standards high in order to make anything substancial on mylot.
If you want I'd love to prove it to you, but I can tell you it won't happen to me by next week.

Simple because they don't get to enjoy Mylot like we do. I must agree when you say that Mylot is not just all about Money. But rather meeting other people and having the chance to share your ideas with them.

this is the best discussion i come accross..
i joined mylot 4 days back , and in the begining i dint even knew we can earn in mylot.. all i cared was the members over here are really awesome. the moment i ask something i get response from someone, a really good site to improve our knowledge and get help.
i had joined a site similar to mylot but members over there were mainly business or money making people and not that involved in other stuffs...
i really dont care how much i earn all i care is the knowledge i gained here.
even made lots of friends here who helped me and some even made me realize how difficult it is out there..
thank you pau_79 for this wonderfull discussion you started and i would really like to thank mylot admin's for creating such a wonderfull site.
take care..

Well, I am not one who has been paid out yet because I have not reached the $10.00 limit for payout. This is my fault because I was not active as I was working on other projects. However, I have read many different opinions on this subject and I see it this way: Mylot is a great place to discuss many of the days news stories. This has been a great place for discussion especially after this year's number of natural disasters and the U.S. Presidential Campaign and elections.
I enjoy Mylot because it is a place to keep up with my writing, seeing how other people feel about different things and a place to meet people, even if it is only on-line.
Here is how I feel about the idea of Mylot being a scam...if you have reached the $10.00 payout limit and have not been paid, then you might consider this program a scam. If you have not reached your payout limit and begin to call it a scam, then you might want to rethink what a scam is. I am not pointing you out, I am just saying this in general.
Thanks for the discussion.

Oops, sorry. Did not realize that my first post here had been saved. My laptop had locked up momentarily and then it started back up. I am at a diner that offers free WIFI and it appeared to be acting up. Sorry for the double entry.

I can not say one way or another if Mylot is a scam. I can say this though, I am enjoying the discussions and when my creativity starts up, I like starting new discussions. This year in particular has been a great year for discussions with all of the terrible natural disasters and the U.S. Presidential Campaigning and Elections nearing. I have been enjoying Mylot and even if I do not get paid, then, at least I can keep up with my writing and meeting people, even if it is only on-line. I feel that Mylot is not a scam, but it is up to the individual to decide.

Those who come here solely for money claim that MyLot after posting 1000s of low-quality responses and discussions, and getting pennies for it. MyLot is not about making money - it is about being in a nice community with a chance to share any of your ideas with others. Those who do not want to understand this will keep saying that Mylot is a scam. But once you hade decided to stay with Mylot for the sake of entertainment, you will like it forever, and you can even increasy your earnings if you forget the financial side of being here, and just post for your own pleasure. This is what I have learned so far after being a member for quite a while.

It is so funny how people consider mylot a scam. For one a lot of newbies can't even define the definition of what the word "scam" really means. If that were so then that means I would have never received my two payments I got from them. One time in October 2007 I received $10.64 and just recently last month I received $26.40 through paypal. People on here should realize this is a fun activity which can pay fairly well for making discussions, making blogs and replying to other people's discussions. So to the people who call it a scam should do their homework because they will be proven wrong.

Good day... given there are a lot of scam sites out there and I was a victim to one but I can honestly vouch for mylot. I have received 2 payouts since I've join and looking forward for my third in the next month payout.
Just hang in there keep on posting relevant and interesting issues and soon enough you'll receive your first payout. And most of all try to enjoy your stay here as well. It's a fun and rather addicting site.

I've read and searched a lot before considering trying and registering here at mylot. So far I've been here for more than a week and got a dollar for my posts. I'm still trying to see if they'll pay after I reach my minimum payout. I think they will. If not then everything that I've read from fellow members that they've been paid are lies.

As scam is when you have to spend some of your own hard-earned cash before you get anything. Usually all you get is a smaller bank balance and none of the wonderfull promises of wealth occurs.
In MyLot's case, it does not cost you a cent to start earning something. All it takes is time and participation.
If you are purely focussed on check your earnings figure at the top every day, then you will definately not be successful here.

Well, I guess we can't blame some people for being somewhat pessimistic about participating in mylot. Some of these people have been scammed several times, and really have wasted a lot of time and effort trying to earn, only to realize that they were just scammed by those sites. Mylot is definitely not like all these sites. It may take time and effort, and perseverance, but they definitely pay their participants. I know for sure, because I have received payouts from mylot a couple of times already. For the longest time I have been a member at mylot, if I had only been actively writing, I might have had a whole lot of payouts todate.

I think people are just trying to be safe because there are tons and tons of scam sites in CyberSpace. Nobody would want to spend time for something that they wouldn't get anything from.
New members should take time to read the do's and dont's of a site before they post something. It's also possible that some people probably was banned from the site because they keep on violating rules, hence, they tell other people that the site is scam.

yeah, new members will make their first thread saying hey heres a great site come join then post their url link.
I've had my share of deleted topics because someone must have post referral links-guess I just have to live with it and sometimes I make a note not to post ref link lol

I'm glad to have found mylot. I have been paid by myLot once last month and it definitely is not a scam. I know that we often check how much we got for this and that, it's human nature. What these people need to know is that they need to post regularly and write a lengthy post. I have seen the newbies giving 3 word posts which will earn them nothing. So, it is important to educate them on how to earn more at myLOt. There are many discussions on these topics. I learn a lot from myLotters here and I'm very happy. Even though I feel that it is not a site where I can earn a residual income from, it is still aadditional change in my pocket.

Well, it doesn't really matter to me. It will be nice if it does pay out, but quite honestly I would be wasting my time on a forum somewhere posting, so it might as well be here. In fact I love that I moved over here from my regular site because it was only people from the US on that one. I love that their are people from all over the world on this site. It's interesting to get the perspective from people from different countries and walks of life. And if it pays me a bit to do that, then that's just extra, but even if it didn't I'd still be here having fun and wasting too much time. lol

I think that a lot of people are really cautious of scams that might be why they think mylot is a scam. Like you said most new people don't realize how much they need to participate here at mylot. people just try to answer as many posts as possible with junk answers and think that's all that counts to make money. I have been here for a few weeks and i don't really have to many posts but my earnings are up to 2.02 so far. I don't think that's to bad considering i only answer discussions that interest me. I also havent made many discussions that have gotten alot of responses. Im here more for the people and discussions then just for the money. I will reach payout eventually but it will probably take a while.

I just started on here a week ago. I will say when my friend first sent me a link to the page i thought it sounded to good to be true. But i tried it and had good earnings my first day. I have set earning goals and things like that but I am already more into posting then i am watching my money grow. Some days i will even get on here and start checking discussions before looking at how much money i made the day before. I really like it here. Its nice to talk to people from all over the world and get advice or sometimes just a good laugh.
