What's the deal with "guessing game" posts here on myLot?

I admit I'm a n00b, but I must have missed something in the rules. I see post after post of "PM me for a website that does this and that" Why, if you're just posting to spam a referral link, can't you just post it? Is there a rule against posting referral links that asking someone to PM you circumvents? Genuine question, by the way.

Oh wow. I never knew that. So, when people ask, "which site should I use to make money, etc" what do we tell them. Can we talk about the site at least and then send the actual link via p.m. if they're interested.

Links may be placed in profiles or sent though pms if the user requests them. Links sent through pms without being requested could be xosidered as spam and therefore reportable. Best to send them only if a user asks first

Welcome to MyLot! Nice to see a new user ASKING about the rules and I will try and explain. Please ask more if it is not clear Basically MyLot is for discussions. If you see a discussion where it says 'pm for the link' that will be deleted as it is not a discussion if users are asked to discuss through pm (Private Messgaes). It IS a violation to post links containing referral IDs (affiliate links) eith at the start of a discussion and in responses. Links may be placed in profiles for users to see and sent throgh PMs if the user requests it. Spam is ILLEGAL not just here but anywhere. If someone posts a referral link here he could be reported to the site contained in the link and would risk losing his account on the site itself. If your discussion or response is violating the MyLot Guidelines and TermsofUse it will be deleted causing loss of earnings. You can see all the Guidelines for discussions but 'veteran' users will help if you have more questions. http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx Happy MyLotting!
