I usually use mediaplayer 11 as it has many new features and good filters for better sound quality, but wen it comes to buffering and error correction its really lamo.. i use vlcplayer for watching vdo's especially if it has some error as it got good error correction. what you think, and which do you prefer or use ?? share your views.. thank you..

I prefer anything that isn't Mediaplay 11, mainly because it just won't load on my computer. Otherwise I use anything that can load wmv files so sometimes I use VLC and for other formats I use nokia media player :P and quicktime or itunes.

I don't think its a problem with my ram thats not letting it load, when I try to start the program, nothing happens, it's like I haven't done anything at all.

I too find it slow, I am currently on a new Operating System, and don't have all the programs yet, and I remember my Winamp and how quick was it. I am going to reinstall it, it still is the best for me.

No, I am using XP, and have win98 on my computer too) I will always remember 98 fondly, it still works, but some programs and hardware just are not make for it((( Maybe I will try Vista with a new computer, XP is both good, because I don't have to do everything manually, and bad, because he will not let me do anything! manually-)

ya it does support more formats than Media player, and for Media player to support other formats we have to install klite codec or any other, its bit annoying to do extra work.. thank you for replying.

vlc is good player but one annoying thing about vlc is if you try dragging the progress bar to some other time it will take a while to start paying from that time scale..

I have been using VLC player for quite a number of years. I found it good as (if not better than) Windows Media player 11. It is compatible with most formats and it usually does not give me any problems to play any media.

ya even i like vlc as it got good error correction feature, when a video is sevierly damaged mp11 stops and displays error where as vlc will skip those part and plays rest without interruption.. i hope mp12 has error correction feature, MP12(Vienna) is going to be released soon. thank you for replying.

I find that Windows Media Player 11 and 10 are quite slow. WMP11 has a lot of good features but like you said, there are a lot of buffering and error connection problems. I also use VLC player for watching videos. It's pretty fast and it doesn't take up to much resources.
