XP is good because it's quite complete now. Vista still needs time for it to stable and compatible with hardware and software. In terms of looks, Vista is more better.

I think xp was the better than vista because the operating xp is better than the vista and the small babe can open files in xp because i was designed very easy way and it support all kind of software but we need to wait for some more years to make vista a best because it was new software come into market but xp was not new. all the user buy the software that support xp so they not change their os into vista no me also.

east or west xp is best....vista has so many problems...and its also does not support all type of game...as i am a gamer its not good for me....may be its have more customize feature..but...only feature its have not the main thing..and another problem is for vista we need good configuration computer...because vista works best in 1.5 to 2 gb ram...

Definitely windows XP, although Vista does have a better design. I like XP more because I mainly use my computer for gaming and when I use it for normal work it suffices, also I've seen too many bugs in Vista for me to be convinced it's worth the upgrade. Also SP3 apparently matches Vista standards.

I have never tried vista, but am sure my new laptop will have it. I have heard that most people prefer XP still, but vista is relatively new and kinks are still being worked out. There are still a few things I use that don't run with Vista, so my preference is still XP.

I prefer XP is best for me this is due to hardware configuration differences between the two OS.

Well, I much prefer XP, but, I've been using Vista for a couple of years now that I'm getting used to it. When I first got this laptop with Vista there were so many glitches that they hadn't worked out of the system yet and it was soooooooooo frustrating! After awhile, though, I'm getting used to Vista and it's not causing me as many problems as it did in the past. If I had my druthers, though, I would definitely get XP again. I don't like vista at all. I have used the XP Pro since it came out. I can do about anything I want to with the XP but I can't the Vista. My Daughter has a lap top with Vista on it and I hate that thing. Just the Vista is bad but on a laptop it is useless. If a lap top is all I could get I would just get off computers period. XP isn't perfect but it's the best I have ever used.

Had a lot of experience with xp and really loved it. Bit the bullet and bought a new laptop with vista. Had a little experience with vista last year when it first came out. My computer-ilterate friend purchased a laptop with vista and I had to figure out how to use it so I could teach her. Since she lives 400 miles away and would call me with a problem it was pretty hard to solve since I was still running xp. A lot easier now to help her solve her issues since I can go to laptop and figure out pretty much what's going on with hers. Overall, it's not bad but does take a little getting used to. I think it's quicker and smoother that xp and has a lot more options.

I would say that Vista has gotten enough penetration to be recommended. Also mid-range computers can handle Vista's system-hog tendencies pretty well. Still, while I have Vista on my laptop I have XP on my desktop for gaming. But it's not necessarily because XP is a better operating system but simply because Vista's gaming support is a bit inconsistent, from all I've heard.

I prefer XP but only because I've used it longer. However, I like Vista as well. It seems A LOT smoother when you're doing ALT TAB. The design also flows a lot better. The start menu actually blends in with the desktop. Rather than having an ugly blue bar at the bottom of your screen (like XP), you have a nice black bar (well I do anyway) and it works better with every background we have on the computer. Vista also updates quicker, it also starts quicker when you restart the computer. All in all I would have to say that Vista is a better OS than XP.
