Do you donate to charity?

What kind of charity groups do you donate to, and why? Is there a specific cause that you wished to make a contribution to?

I donate my time to the American Cancer Society. I joined a relay for life team to raise money for the American Cancer Society. I joined because my best friend's sister is a cancer survivor at 23 years old and I wanted to support them. It feels good to help out.

It IS good to help out every now and then, especially since that you've experienced it so close to yourself.

Over here, we have a Salvation Army - they are one of the organisations that I donate to. Others would include shelter or homes for abused, abandoned or retarded children and abandoned old folks. I feel very strongly for children or old people who are left alone in the world without people to care for them. Since I'm not able to devote time & effort, the best I can do, is offer them some monetary help.
