Many years ago mahjong was very fashionable all around China, but the playing rule varies from each province in China, I know how to play it and lost a lot 5 years ago, now i have given it up for the reasons that it not only did harm to my health but also let me lose money, I was a bad player at that time, just knew how to play. Nobody could be sure to win when gambling unless cheating, it is possible to win today and maybe lose more tomorrow.

In my hometown,Mahjong is very popular. And my parents like playing it so much.I played Mahjong when I was 1o year old,but that is only for joy,not for the ganbling. Now I have not touch the Mahjong for many years, that because we do not like it anymore.I have so many other thing I like to do,such as reading books, watching movies and shoping etc.
But anyway if you want to find some funs,Mahjong is a good choice for you!

During my teen days, we had a tailor shop but it was bankrupt. So my parents use it as mahjong place instead, after office hours and dayoffs, my parents have to play until late in the night. I missed my father so much with my smaller brother and sisters too. One day when my parents are away from home, I took some big woods , nails and a hammers and i blocked the doors permanently to the disbelief of my father. He never question me and realized my message to him. ha ha aha ha LOL.

I never learned how to play actual mahjong... eventhough we have the play set at home... i don't know how we got that... because no one in my family ever played that game... so we just used that ply set as our toy... but with my old cell phone... i have a mahjong game there... i play it sometimes... although i don't really understand the game...

Hi there andak2007
I know how to play it on the computer, online and on my phone game but I don't know how to play it for real. I saw a proper Mahjong game in a shop in my town it was beautiful but expensive. Maybe I will buy one for my mum for Christmas one year then we can play together that way I can justify spening that much on a game!

I have only ever played the single-player versions that either came with Windows Vista in my computer, or that I downloaded off the internet, or into my cellphone. My cousin married a Chinese man, and I understand they play it a lot in his family, but I have never played with anyone, just the games in my computer. It would be fun to play with someone else, though.

I hate gambling, any form! So I never play mahjong. I also do not tolerate any gambling in our premises. I want my home clean from all vices whether it be gambling, drinking, smoking, name it and I hate it!

yes. i knew it. there are many ways to play it. i played it when i was in singapore and the tiles include animals (chicken, centipede, cat and mice) and flowers too which is different from the games played in china. in china, they mainly use the tongzi (marble) tile, wanyzi(words) tile and tiaozi(bamboo) tiles to play. in different provinces, the game is played differently too. the odds are also different depending on the type of game u are playing. mahjong is highly addictive and once started, you cannot start. i started the game when i was in university when my fellow hall mates started teaching me. since then, i just could not stop playing. now my wife plays the game almost everyday from afternoon to past midnight. the winnings and losses are at times quite huge. To play the game well, you have to use your memory as u have to remember cards discarded by your opponents so you can roughly guess what tiles they are holding in their hands. u must also know when to make your card big like single colour (meaning all the tiles are from one family, eg. all tongzi (marbles) etc.)and when to run as fast as possible by gaming small meaning an assortment of tiles which is the lowest payout. trust me, it really addictive and enjoying to play.
